Time to move the football forum to the In-State Rivals cave?
the whole forum? You expecting the season to be so bad that you just want to launch a preemptive strike to keep the misery off the front page?
It's been a while since I was in a ******* match so I suppose this is as good of a time waster as any. Who are the teams you have ahead of Iowa?
With this year's schedule? Not many. Iowa should start 10-0, easily. It will seem a lot like the 2002 season when Iowa played two Big 10 teams with a pulse and then rolled the rest of what was a super weak conference. UI lost to ISU in non-con and got rolled by USC in the bowl game. Nobody on the 2014 schedule will really put up a fight except maybe Wisconsin, and Iowa even gets them at home. Nebraska too. Like I said, against the easy schedule they have this season, there's no reason why Iowa shouldn't start 10-0.
Not necessarily. Just noting that every football thread that isn't about Devron Moore is really an in-state rivals thread. If that's what the football threads will be, then move the whole thing where it belongs.
well it is the offseason and people aren't too excited about the upcoming season and when that happens threads tend to veer off topic. There's a reason why the basketball forum is a lot more active even though basketball season doesn't start for another six months.
Well aware.
In this case, the threads were pretty clearly rivalry trolling, one from each side of things.
It's not a big deal. It's a pretty clear indication of the lack of excitement for football in general, but I think we knew that without the threads.

In your supreme intellect, could you possibly explain to this simpleton (that graduated from ISU with honors) how the two statements are conflicting? Is stating that up until this point, the two football programs are not comparable somehow conflicting with the idea that said statement is not set in stone and can change in the future? Isn't that what the majority of Cyclone fans want?
Please use small words and include a diagram so I can keep up.
I'm all for that. What is the deal with the hundreds of Hok troll posts a day? Did HN implode? Threatened by Dreamy?

The Ohio State
Michigan
Michigan St.
Wisconsin
Northwestern
Then there is the Nebraska, Penn St., Iowa, Minnesota group (in that order). Iowa is only clearly ahead of Indiana, Illinois, and Purdue.
I doubt any non-Iowa residents would have a much different list.
Are you talking overall or right now? Cuz if you're talking right now your list is a joke. Michigan is way to high up there on your list, and Iowa is definitely ahead of Northwestern and Penn St.
Here's how both divisions finished last year:
Legends
MSU
Iowa
Nebraska
Minn
Michigan
Northwestern
Leaders
OSU
Wisc
PSU
Indiana
Illinois
Purdue
So, even with your homer slant, you have Iowa fighting for 6th place in the big 10? Surely, you're joking. That has them very close to being in the bottom half of the conference.

I would have it like this:
Ohio State
Wisconsin
Mich State
Nebraska
Iowa
Penn State
Northwestern
Michigan
Minnesota
Indiana
Illinois
Purdue
Who knows where Rutgers and Maryland will end up, but more than likely in the bottom half somewhere.
