COMMIT: Marcedus Leech, 2019 SF

The more I think on it, the more I love this pickup. Low risk high reward pickup. This is a kid who would likely have been at the top of his class and blue blood bound before he got injured. ISU stuck with him, which he seemed to appreciate and factor into his decision. We now have a kid committed with tremendous potential. Worst case the staff works with an athletic 3 star the program can work to develop into a backup 2 guard, while best case we just stole an all american type talent.

And he may be extra motivated to beat Kansas since they're one of the schools that backed off of him after his injury.

Moving on to Stage 2...I THOUGHT WE WERE AT A LEVEL THAT WE WOULDN’T HAVE TO TAKE HIGH RISK GUYS!!!! WHY ISN’T PROHM GETTING IN STATE KIDS THAT ARE LOWER RISK???!!! WE HAVE TO BUIKD OUR PROGRAM AROUND IOWA KIDS!!!! CONCERNED AGAIN!!!!
Don't forget Prohm should be getting some guys that foul aggressively and are fully committed to boxing out.

I am glad this worked out, and I think it's the perfect time to go after a boom or bust guy like Leech with the incoming freshman class that we have this year. If Prohm lands Tandy, I think he's done an incredible job with these two classes not just identifying guys early and closing the deal with good players, but also balancing in terms of position, risk, and projects vs. immediate impact.

Paul George is averaging 22.9 points per game since he came back from his leg injury...I think this is going to be one of the biggest steals in Cyclone history....
I agree this is gonna be a great get.

But that post reads funny haha. Getting Paul George after a 22.9 season would be one of the biggest steals in Cyclone history...;)

Welp... but yeah, not really concerned about Marcedus if his injuries are breaks and not ACL/MCL or anything knee related.

Welcome to CyclONation Marcedus! Been a long time coming but it'll be worth it.

I'll be looking forward to watching ESPN's college game day feature on Leech detailing his climb back from the fractures and how ISU/Prohm stuck with him through out.

Whats the key to staying healthy after injuries like these? More squats? He looks like a killer in these videos, hopefully thats the version we get!
