Just curious--did you ever see Archie Manning when he played for the Saints?
Yes, and the Saints weren't decent.

I felt the same way as well. He became more conservative once he got injured and would tuck the ball and run rather than take chances. I would think a lot of it was due to his injuries and just his confidence being down as a result of the ****** play calling. It's not a fair comparison between a healthy Rohach and an injured Sam. Sam is more dynamic with his ability to run, but I definitely want him to be more aggressive with his arm this season. If there was a season for it, this will be it with all the WRs we have.
The bad news:
when you have 2 QBs, then you actually have no QBs. I think both are OK, but neither is great. I find it hard to believe we suddenly have 2 Sage/Seneca level QBs on the team.
The good news:
with better management (simpler offense, more rush game, better OL play) we could have better QB play than last year and a more successful offense, even if neither QB is a world-beater.
I'm sure Mangino will pick whichever one's strengths fits better into the offense he wants to run.
That was the rotation that they were on with the QB's. Rhoads stated that and said not to read too much into it......which you did.
IMO, it is coming down to either Grant or Sam. I consider them to be viable QB's that we can win with. Contrast that with 2003 season. We were awful.
How would you like to choose from these QB's.

Extra bummer: Waye Terry is a cool QB name.
Stole him right out from under Biso Nation
Just one time, it would be nice for one of our quarterbacks to grab the job by its haunches and hump it into submission. I'm tired of this "neither one stands out" *********. They should try to be a little more like White Goodman and take the bull by the horns.

Coaches lie, I have a feeling there is a clear #1, we just don't know it yet. I don't really need to know it for another 16 days as long as the team and coaches know who the man is.
Not according to his family that I sat next to during the Iowa game. In fact, they told me Grant was a bit frustrated at not being given the nod to play that day given how injured Sam was....
Heard a little different story from his Mom before the UNI game. She said Grant did hurt his hand in camp and didn't know how long into the season it would be before he could throw with no issues.
Looking forward to having another season long QB divided fan base

Here's another question i'm relatively curious on, Is it truly Mangino's offense? I really hope that CPR has kept his nose out of the offensive meetings, and let Mangino be the coach he is. Not like Rhoads was with Mess last year. CRP had Mess rapped around his finger.

So if Grant or Sam is named the starter and totally stinks up the place and doesn't execute, we stay with him no matter what?
I don't believe in pulling the QB for making a mistake, but if the guy totally sucks you can't just sit back and not give the other guy at least a shot at some time in the game.
I think that if whoever is given the nod has a bad game they shouldn't lose the spot. They shouldn't be looking over their shoulder and terrified of making mistakes. We should pick a QB and stick with him. If the guy stinks it up for multiple games then you consider making a change.
