Come on back whenever you decide you want to play for a great coach against the best competition.

Uh no, that ship has sailed, don't ever want to see him back even if it is to watch a game. Losing your passion for football is understandable if you don't want to play again, but to go to a D2 school means you aren't big enough for the big time, have fun back in Creston in 4 years doing whatever they do there. Loser.

Conllin Bevins has joined the ranks of Lucca Staiger, Wes Johnson, Whats his name who transferred to a "school closer to home" Adam Haluska, Barkley Hill etc. I don't appreciate kids who say one thing and do another, if he lost his passion then so be it I am ok with that but to then go somewhere else to play the same sport baffles me. Be honest in your reasoning in leaving no matter what it is.

The only problem with this is that Collin Bevins has never publicly spoken about his situation. All information has been second hand info that isn't always true.

The only conclusion I could come up with as to why he would want to go to NWMSU is that there is a female desire currently attending there who looks like Kate Upton... CASE CLOSED.

The SW Iowa hate in this thread is unbelievable to me.

To those of you who responded to the ignorance and had your posts deleted too, I apologize. But I'm not going to stand for that crap.

Kilgore - Yes I am from SW Iowa. And yes, I'm DAMN proud of it too.

I grew up there. I chose to then go back and work for one of the top ag stations in the state, KMA in Shenandoah right out of college for three years.

Take the front-runner Nebraska fans on that side of the state out of the picture and there are some GREAT Iowa State supporters in that corner of the state.

Calling people hillbillies just because of where they are from and live, without knowing them at all? Not cool.

I'm pretty sure he tweeted out that he had lost his love for the game. So that really isn't a second hand account

Stop ******* apologizing. I read the thread before stuff was deleted and read the other thread. Just deleting posts is very generous.

As I posted in another thread the commitment from D1 to D2 isn't much different. And to compare it to HS is flat stupid.

Success at ANY level is earned through years and sweat and blood and time and commitment. I wish more folks in these threads would acknowledge your first-hand experience rather than assume he's going to a country club.

The kid is looking for something else or got sideways with someone or who knows what else, but the kid is making a decision for his life and not for any one of us. Best of luck to the young man in his future endeavors!

COPYING AND PASTING A POST FROM FarminCy from another thread as he has experience on many things people here DON'T which still doesn't stop them from posting their pearls of wisdom just the same....

There is just a ton of misinformation going all around here.

As a former D2 football player I am amazed at what some on here think it is, it's not just a bunch on no talent hacks lining up to play football.

D2 has a lot of talented players in it and for those thinking the workouts will be so much easier you are mistaken. We have all seen Yancy's treadmill workout which is cool but trust me when I say there are top tier strength and conditioning programs at D2, NWMSU is one that has a top tier program.

D2 is loaded with guys that were borderline D1 scholarship material and chose to take scholarships at a lower tier instead of a preferred walk on. I am an example of that, I had scholarship offers from ISU and Minnesota before I got seriously hurt my senior year. I wasn't cleared by signing day and both those schools pulled the offer and gave me preferred walk on. I still had scholarship offers to 1-AA and D2 schools. So I chose to play at a D2 school which fit me the best. There are lots of kids with similar stories at D2 and lots of D1 transfers playing at D2. And trust me when I say football at the D2 level is a physical and mental grind just like D1. D2 players put in just as many hours with workouts, practice, training table, study table, PT, travel, etc. as D1. The only difference is we don't have huge multi million dollar facilities for it. Instead you are in a building sharing those areas with the basketball team, baseball team, etc. Nice facilities just not football specific. Is there more talent at D1, absolutely, but to act like D2 teams are junior high teams is crazy.

And yes it isn't as likely to get to the NFL but your crazy to think it isn't an option at D2. I had multiple individual workouts with NFL teams (obviously didn't end up on a team) and I played with three guys who made it on NFL teams and against many guys who made it to the NFL. Just because D2 players aren't normally called in the first round doesn't mean they don't end up in the NFL. Northwest Missouri for example had two guys this spring sign free agent contracts. Point is if you're talented enough the NFL will find you, especially at a school like NWMSU.

I guess I don't feel the anger towards him that alot of people on here are. ISU didn't work for him, so what. I loved my time at a school of about 10,000 students and am not sure a school the size of ISU would have worked for me. Some people don't like big schools, no reason to talk about him the way people have been on here.

Yeah you're right. I mean, I don't know that "difference" between D1, D2, D3, NAIA, or anything else for that matter as I don't have any first-hand experience myself. I've covered D1 and D2 before. We all know more about D1 because there's just so much more media coverage of those programs. I know how many hours the Iowa State guys put in because of that. But I also know how hard the D2 programs work too. I covered NWMSU for a few years. It's a top-notch D2 program, like an Ohio State or Florida at D1.

There are a lot more demands on a D1 player from the standpoint of pressure (message boards like this, larger fan bases, more attention, etc.). Not positive from an actual football standpoint though.

How can anyone be p***ed at this kid? He's not leaving for another D1 program and if he can't hack a B12 grind we can't use him. Best of luck to him. Next Cyclone in.

The only difference between northern Misery and southern Iowa is twenty IQ points. The scholastic rigors of NWMSU are nonexistent.
