Coaching Carousel

Dumpster fires sweeping the south this year. Half the SEC will be gone by 2018. Arkansas, Ole' Miss, Tennessee, Missouri for sure.

This is McElwain's 3 year right. So Florida gave him 2.5 years. I like Florida and they should be better but come on that's just plain stupid.

I know there's also been a lot of talk about Beliema being gone from Arkansas after this year, but he's done a pretty good job overall down there.

Expectations have gotten way out of hand for some of these programs.

Nebraska, Florida, and Tennesse are basically givens. I bet all three will try to get Campbell unsuccessfully. Pollard will give him a raise.
I know McElwain left on bad terms with Florida, but I am thinking Nebraska will take him. He had good success at CSU and there was some Nebraska swag in a recent pic of him and his family. Plus he won't have a buy out. Just a guess

I heard a 12 million buyout? I'm guessing they will try to fire him with cause.
I saw on ESPN where they said Florida is trying to get the buyout reduced because they feel they have cause to fire him. I'm not sure what he did that makes them feel that way. It might be just there way of trying to get the buyout reduced.

They are pinning it on him making up death threats against him, his family, and players. He has since acknowledged that they were from the past (he made them up) and doesn't want to press charges.

Gotta wonder why anyone would want to take a job at a place like Florida after firing a guy who made it to 2 SEC championship games in his first 2 years as head coach and then fire him in the middle of the following season. The only reason would be for a money grab, IMO.

Think Flo-Rida is after Memphis coach. kNU is Frost bit but may take the hog from R Kansas. Misery is stuck and Tenn will take Strong. R Kansas will go for Miles.

Glad I'm not the only one who refers to Arkansas as R-Kansas. My wife hates it but all I can ever think of is when Houston Nutt referred to them as R-Kansas when he was at Ole Miss. It was so funny to hear.

They didn't fire him for on- field performance. They fired him for lying about the death threats. That said, if they were sitting on a normal Florida season, they would have put up with that.

He told lies about death threats

They're just using the death threats thing to try to get out of paying the buyout. Like you said, they wouldn't even be trying to get rid of him at all if they had won a few more games this season.
