I’m just gonna make one post in here.

For the record, I haven’t participated in a single media availability since TJ got the job. The only times I’ve asked him on thr tecodd questions was when I filled in for Walters in Brooklyn. JAred, Rob and now Connor handle that. My role is specifically commentary these days for the very reasons I have stated from day one. You don’t always have to like or appreciate what I have to say. It’s part of the deal. Always has been the case regardless of the ckach.

I have been way more up front about all of this stuff than I’d guess most people would be in my position. 100 percent honest. I have thick skin but man this thread is pretty hurtful, especially coming from certain posters. I just don’t know how I could have been more transparent with you all.

FWIW too on the reaction pods. When the year turned we went in a different direction with the sales of them. Honestly the numbers just haven’t been there for them and we do so many other pods that I just don’t feel the need to do them all the time like we used to. It is oftentimes very redundant, Especially when the team is losing. You guys just don’t listen to them I look at the numbers religiously.

Finally I honestly was really happy that my friend and my daughter’s friends were going to move back home. But this crap is exactly why I didn’t ever want him to get this job. The whole thing just sucks.
You've been very open about it and it's not like Scotty and Jared and heck even you and Blum haven't been critical of certain parts of the team. Some people seem to want you guys to act like TJ sucks and to totally eviscerate him. I guess that will make them feel better? You can be critical of parts of what is going on and talk about what could possibly change without acting like a child or a **** head.

People just want to say this team wasn't very good to begin with because it helps them comprehend this current meltdown. The facts don't back that theory up though. This is a good team, it's just broken for whatever reasons.

TJ did an amazing job. Now everyone expects to win with less talent. Hard to bring back the Hilton Magic that Prohm banished for the last few years.

. TJ - if he wins - will stay as long as we will have him and that’s special.
I'm sure both you and him understand and even talk about this.....but man, this isn't going to go well if we keep losing games in Ames against teams like TCU and K-State.
People are rabid around here for some good basketball after the last 4 years and when you come out for huge games like Baylor and Kansas and aren't even competitive it's a huge letdown.

4 or 5 losses every year in Ames just isn't going to workout.

They know. It’s Year One, bring this back up in two years if it’s still an issue.

So let's say the CF staff were total dickheads and grilled TJ after every game where multiple players had comically bad shooting nights. What would it change? Would it make everyone feel better that TJ felt bad because he disappointed our fanbase?

The man took a bunch of used parts from Sam's Riverside Auto Salvage and made them into something that got people excited. Will the wheels eventually fall off building a vehicle like that? Yes, and they did. But we should be glad that car ran for as long as it did, because if you put most coaches in that position you are smoking crack if you think many could get 10 wins out of the situation he inherited.

I think 99% of us get it. It’s a very vocal minority trying to find someone to blame.

ISU's non-con SoS is now 329th in Kenpom. It was designed to give them some easy wins to build confidence.

Conclusions and expectations based on performance against the 329th ranked non-con SoS may have been a mistake. ISU hasn't regressed, they have just started playing a much tougher schedule. They aren't a "very good team that is free falling". They are a team with a substandard rotation of bigs at the P6 level and only one consistent scoring threat who isn't big on passing.
But as you can see by NET ISUs non con sucks because the bad teams were really bad. It’s a stupid weakness of KenPom that playing a bunch of teams in the 200s that still suck and a good team will beat dramatically improves your SOS. Of course that is stupid, as there is pretty much no practical difference. That is one benefit of breaking s things down in quads.

ISU was actually very good even thorough with he first few conference games. Pretty much nobody on here believed they were one of the best 10-15 teams in the country. We knew the resume suggested it but knew the Big 12 and offensive struggles would catch up. Not this hard, though.

I look at it like it’s a business. If I did something poorly at work (day one or one year in) - I would get asked questions about it. Why shouldn’t we do the same for publicly funded coaches? What’s wrong with asking questions about making adjustments/why none were made? (You can ask questions and still be professional… it happens 1000s of times a day).

If they are soft and get offended - that’s on them.

We as a society should do this more often… There is nothing wrong with candor.

FWIW, this season shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone. The early season success was a combination of bad teams, and very little scouting reports on the new squad. We caught many of those ranked teams off guard. Then we got to our conference schedule. Early on, we kept up with the Baylors & Texas Techs, on pure determination. Once the reports came out about how to stop the offense, it was easier to do so, based upon talent level.

t's going to take time to rebuild this program. Freaking relax already. The field of 64 should never have been a target for this year, the fact we were talking about it should have been good enough. I'd still be happy with the NIT.

Also, the purpose of this thread to call out CW is pure ********.

Why not try to make adjustments!? Is he going to with a different roster? Has he tried to make adjustments? What can we do differently to succeed?

Are you stating our team is untalented? Why bring on Grill then - if his talent level isn’t there.

You can’t have it both ways.

Because you need 10 players to run a practice at least.

I mean we did try a few other things yesterday that seemed to work but in the second half reverted to bad TOs and lots of tough jump shots.

Let’s just sit out the B12 Conference Tournament and call it a season. No reason to play if we can’t even run a legitimate practice.

Not sticking up for the overboard critical posters in this thread at all, that's not helpful. But I do think many fans get caught up in such high frustration and a message board becomes a sounding board, or a release. The OP's CW topic is entirely another level tho.

As for the present tailspin of the team, even I caught myself today being so frustrated knowing that a freshmen from Waukee is knocking down 3's with a smooth shot and is literally a better shooter than anybody on ISU's roster. That's hard to swallow. (Has nothing to do with "well we kicked them in Dec.). I'm just talking about a 'complete' roster. It's going to take time for TJ to get a roster of everything we all seem to want.....couple pure shooters, a big man who is a scoring threat, and still enough athletic hard-nosed players, plus a quality bench. Until then it's hard to judge a coach on what went right early and what's gone wrong late.

Then have Jared or whoever sits up on press row ask. If I see CW ever sitting up there again - I’ll ask why and say “you don’t even cover the team.. why are you here”…

Tough man. You truly are a Dickhead. Why are you even on the website?

This would be a great statement and question to ask. It shouldn’t catch TJ off guard either.
