Nobody wants Campbell gone. It’s what fans do. Hell people wanted Campbell gone this year after losses. But because it’s TJ, complaining is unacceptable.

I have to admit, I couldn’t care less about the relationship between TJ and CW. If people don’t like the content or don’t trust the content they can go elsewhere. The relationship I do have a slight issue with is the one between Pollard and TJ and how the coaching search was conducted.
That being said, what’s done is done. He’s proven he’s a good recruiter, we need him to perform better on game day.

Don't listen to the people on this board. We are die hards but we are also ******* nuts. All of my ISU friends that I've talked to outside of this board, while frustrated, are a long way from giving up on TJ and this program. This is a passionate but patient fan base. Don't make the mistake of thinking the loudmouths on CF represent the average ISU fan. They don't.I’m just gonna make one post in here.
For the record, I haven’t participated in a single media availability since TJ got the job. The only times I’ve asked him on thr tecodd questions was when I filled in for Walters in Brooklyn. JAred, Rob and now Connor handle that. My role is specifically commentary these days for the very reasons I have stated from day one. You don’t always have to like or appreciate what I have to say. It’s part of the deal. Always has been the case regardless of the ckach.
I have been way more up front about all of this stuff than I’d guess most people would be in my position. 100 percent honest. I have thick skin but man this thread is pretty hurtful, especially coming from certain posters. I just don’t know how I could have been more transparent with you all.
FWIW too on the reaction pods. When the year turned we went in a different direction with the sales of them. Honestly the numbers just haven’t been there for them and we do so many other pods that I just don’t feel the need to do them all the time like we used to. It is oftentimes very redundant, Especially when the team is losing. You guys just don’t listen to them I look at the numbers religiously.
Finally I honestly was really happy that my friend and my daughter’s friends were going to move back home. But this crap is exactly why I didn’t ever want him to get this job. The whole thing just sucks.
I think it’s more of accountability.
Why wouldn’t you care what they would have to say after a loss? Would you care what they would say after a win? Should the media even be available to coaches/players?
If they get paid to only figure it out and not talk to the media - would you care?
There were people that wanted him gone after 4 games into his first year. A couple of the same posters are fretting over T.J. right now.
Give it a couple more years at 7-5 and a bunch of people who couldn’t collectively donate at the Victory Level will be calling for his head because we can do better if more big donors step up.
For the record, I don’t think coaches or the media are above criticism, I just don’t buy into this whole accountability through the media for on the court performance. The ultimate criticism is the coach’s record and financial support from the fanbase. That’s how they are held accountable in my eyes.
And to answer your question, I listen on occasion to coaches after wins and losses but not regularly at all. And my motivation to listen certainly isn’t to hold anyone accountable. Maybe I’m in the minority but I’ve never been like “Dammit John/Eric/Blum/Stanz/Williams, why don’t you ask him why his substitution patterns suck so much!”

TIL tom Manning = cmcYou don’t read the post game threads do you? They are the exact same as this thread. No better. No worse.
It’s well known you’re close with TJ. You either need to start asking the tough questions that your job requires or step away from basketball coverage. You had no problem telling us how wrong we were in December, but not a peep now

Can you be more specific? Which users wanted him gone after this season?
Great post....I think WE think we are owed an "answer" so want the media to ask.....but I promise you, every player, coach, staff member are turning every stone to figure out how to win (and feeling far more frustrated, mad, confused, etc) than we as fans. For those of you clamoring for the media to hold a coach accountable for on field/court performance, how exactly does that work? Do tough questions from the media modify coaching strategies? Do they change an outcome of a game? Do they teach a coach to be better at their job? Do you think you would get anything other than coach speak as a response? Coaches are held accountable by wins and losses and butts in the seats. Personally I’ve never cared what a coach says after a loss. It’s not that they are above criticism, it’s that what they say doesn’t matter. They’re paid to figure it out and if they don’t, they won’t be there.
Nobody is clueless about the selection process. I think everyone here understands our bid is on life support right now unless we start winning some games quickly. We're still playing for an NCAA bid, if you were unaware, and anyone who thinks we aren't is completely clueless as to the selection process.

This team doesn't look capable of winning 1 game right now let alone the 3 or 4 more we need to get in.
I hope so, I really cant see much enthusiasm for next year if this continues for the next month.I think ISU makes a run in KC. Could be wrong. But I think our approach/style is great for 3/4 games in 3/4 day.
Our chief value as "fans" to ISU is as a revenue source: urged to buy tickets, to join the Cyclone Club and if already a member to increase our giving, subscribe to conference TV packages, etc. We aren't part of the team, we're spectators. Paying money, for a product.Great post....I think WE think we are owed an "answer" so want the media to ask.....but I promise you, every player, coach, staff member are turning every stone to figure out how to win (and feeling far more frustrated, mad, confused, etc) than we as fans.
