I'd say only about 1/3rd of the ISU fans that I know are actually ISU grads. I work with a half dozen that I know of off the top of my head and none of them went to ISU.

I can say the same thing about KU fans. I work about 30 miles from Lawrence have to deal with KU fans on a daily basis. IMO they are no different than tavernhoks other than the tavernjhoks actually have a car.

Back to the topic - I'd much rather see CD at SJU or UK than at KU. I really don't want a regular reminder of what could have been to play on a team in our conference.

There is no doubt that there is an obsession with KU basketball. However, is there an obsession with basketball in general in Kansas, such as Indiana's obsession with high school basketball, not just the university? It seems to me that the Kansas obsession is much more focused on KU and not so much on high school as in Indiana.

Or you just watched the movie hoosiers too many times

Also I did say college basketball. I think the whole upper midwest minus Illinois and Minnesota has a healthy obsession with Basketball.

I wish I was an expert on everything like you are. My god, can you never not act like the biggest idiot in the room?

Believe me when I say that traditionally Iowa State has FAR FEWER fans that didn't attend the school than Kansas does or even Iowa does. It's the way it has always been in this state. And if you don't live here or know anything (vs. pretending to have knowledge), you don't realize that.

I'm 35, I grew up in the eastern part of Iowa. In my class of 70 people, I was literally the only Iowa State fan and the only reason I was, was because my dad was a graduate. It's gotten a lot better over the last 10 years or so, Iowa State has far fewer fans that have no connection to the program. I would guess that for people my age or older that are Iowa State fans, you either went to Iowa State, your parent went to Iowa State (and remained a fan) or you just wanted to be different. My Dad's brother didn't go to college and it wasn't until 5 years ago that he even started liking Iowa State more than Iowa. For much of my childhood it was literally hard to get an Iowa State game on TV or the radio.

Though it's changing. about 4 years ago I started noticing the kids at East High and the in metro Inner city areas of des moines sporting ISU gear. Used to see Oregon, bulls all kinds of national brands but never a lot of Iowa or ISU then boom gear everywhere. I would.say in general young people are liking isu more and more the last 5 years and we are starting to see a shift in numbers. Still a long way to go after 30 years of Heavy hawk dominance in gaining new fans.

Easy thing for him to do, to stay home. I hated the thought of him possibly going to Kansas, so of he's doing SJU, then I'll he happy for him and move on.

Interesting that Biancardi says Diallo is confused and frustrated with the process......that really, really makes me believe that Diallo was prepared to commit to the Clones and the Matt A situation muddied everything up.

Confused because Matt A is selling him one thing one day and the exact opposite the next day.

Frustrated probably for the same confusion reasons.

I'm at the point right now that SJU, ISU, UK and fcukU are at 20% chance on landing him.
