Cargo Shorts

BTW ran this by my daughter yesterday and she is a teen. She broke it down pretty nice. She basically told me that as a father I am supposed to dress like an adult man and if a lot of adult males are wearing cargo it's fine. She said just don't try and dress like a high school kid or I will really look like a dork. So she went with Cargo being not cool, but understandable and I don't look horrible
Exactly, kids wear these but I'm sure not going to run out and buy a couple of pairs. I'm not sure why people become such a slave to whatever the current fashion is. It's sole purpose is to get you to buy new clothes when there is nothing wrong with your present clothes.

Hi WxMan!

I have a confession to make...

Go ahead.

I wore cargo shorts yesterday well they were not true cargo shorts IMO as they only had one small pocket on each side. You know now that I think about it I used those pockets and I am glad I had them.

Thank you for sharing WxMan.

Do people wear cargo shorts for the pockets or for the length or both?

We should start a poll on the reasons for wearing cargo shorts.

Salmon and neon? Surely you jest.

Golf "fashion" needs to be contained.

If this gets out.....

Wife thought it would be neat to live on a golf course. Now she hears cussing, sees men throwing a whiz, and is visually offended by cigar smoking fancy boys.

America is lost.

Both

I didn't switch to wearing skinny jeans when that became the fashion. I'm not going to let anything else be dictated to me by "fashion".

I'm a flat front khaki or golf shorts guy. I think cargo shorts not only look ridiculous, but I don't see the utility in them. Why the hell would you need that many pockets?

Wallet, smart phone, keys...

If you add much more than that, you need more than the two standard pockets. I hate putting things in my back pockets and having to sit on them, so that makes cargo pockets useful.

Another confession. I have flat front khaki shorts.

I do to. My old work allowed shorts on some Fridays during the summer, but did not allow cargo shorts as some of the more casual ones can be all torn and ragged and look less professional. I also wear the flat fronts when I want to look nice in shorts, with either a button up shirt or nice polo. Cargo shorts are for more casual things like football games and out with friends.

DH would agree. When we were on vacation I'd ask him to take the camera a lot or I'd want the camera and ask him to take my wristlet instead. It's worse now than normal because apparently when you're pregnant, clothes makers think you don't need pockets. So DH's pockets = my pockets now. I imagine that only intensifies with children so pretty much DH will be in cargo shorts for a while yet.

I love cargo shorts and wear them all the time, but you will just get a bigger purse and a diaper bag. No cargo shorts can hold that amount of crap.

I saw CW had the poll up on Twitter. Option 3 needs to be I like cargo shorts but my wife won’t let me wear them.
