Who is Scott Randall? I've heard of Tom Randall.

Is this the site on Lincoln Way in Campustown that seems to be trying to preserve the old building facades? Seems like a pretty cool thing to do. Not unexpected from a developer with local ties. This is the first I have heard about plans for that site.
Scott is a son, and this was on Lincoln way close to downtown.
This has to be in campus town. The sign says 2516 Lincoln and that's by Mayhem. If you type in East Lincoln that's at I35.

edit @capitalcityguy beat me.

This is hilarious that Scott Randall thinks this will work. A one lane alley onto Lincoln Way is simply a bad idea; including crossing a sidewalk with tons of pedestrian traffic.

I'm not really following why it would be a problem. You already see this even closer to campus with underground parking at The Foundry and at 2320 where cars have to cross walkways to access Lincoln.

It hurts walk-ability the more curb cuts you put into place along a sidewalk. It isn't tragic, but just one of the factors that either helps or hurts an area.

Two of the buildings have been demolished, the last has been gutted and ready for demolition. They seem to have stopped work now.

When I was there this weekend, a couple of the buildings were gone or mostly gone...assuming I'm thinking of the right place.

There are several open spaces between Cafe B and Mayhem, but they have saved a few original facades which would look cool in a new building.

Why would you even need a vehicle alley there on Lincoln Way? Can't you already access the parking at the rear of these lots with larger alleys from Welsh and Hayward.

For me it depends what the alley is used for. If its a service alley for picking up garbage and making deliveries it might actually help traffic, as it keeps those types of vehicles from parking on Lincoln.

Given the picture of the building proposed plan it does not look like a huge building that will disrupt the foot traffic in an already busy area that much.

I can see the issue both ways though.

I drove by there this weekend and it was posted on the fence guarding that area. There are like 2 buildings gone, and one that is almost gone, if memory serves correctly.

Wow, that happened quickly then.

I went by this last week. It is hard to imagine that an alley to Lincoln Way is a good idea. There is so much pedestrian traffic there. And cars trying to park. As well as regular traffic. Why would he even propose such a thing? Does he want to use more land on the back for the building?

Edited to note that this has nothing to do with the new sports bar posts.
