Re: Bubu back again

He knew MM had yet to play a minute of college ball. MM hopefully has eased any anxiety on his ability to play. He also knew Kane wasn't on the team so naming Bubu a contributor wasn't much of a stretch. Seems we have way better options now and known and proven. Bubu has not come close to showing the same skills as Kane or MM.

And I don't think anyone is saying he has, or would start now. Who knows? But some people seem to think that, after being a potential starter before the season starts, that he would ride the pine and not contribute. Which is pretty ridiculous.

He may not play a minute this season, but it won't be because he isn't capable.

Re: Bubu back again

I find it ironic that so many people criticize our defense and then in the next breath say Bubu wouldn't help this team. I'm not talking about if you think its right or not right for him to play, but to take that out of it and say he wouldn't help this team during games is just baffling.

Even before all of his legal issues, there was (is?) a very vocal minority on this board who flat out HATE Bubu, and, with CyPhillis as a prime example, still seem to do so.

It does boggle my mind as well. I don't think he's going to be making all-conference teams or show up on any NBA team's draft boards, but he has provided some pretty solid minutes off the bench during his time here. Maybe it's because he'a a former walk-on who has committed the unforgivable sin of being good enough to actually earn some playing time, I don't know. But, it is puzzling to me why he's gotten so much vitriol hurled in his direction, excluding all the off-court stuff. Makes me wonder how this board would have reacted to Jeff Hornacek had the internet been around back then.

Re: Bubu back again

Its terrible that ISU could be off to one of its best season starts in my 30 years of living.... and this kinda story has to add so much negativity around hoops.

I just hope it works out well in the end for everyone. Im just personally ready for it to be over with and whatever happens happens.

Re: Bubu back again

I hope he doesn't. Bubu has actually been far more restrained than I would have been under similar circumstances. I'd hate to see him blow that now. Besides, just sitting there he will annoy some people. It will be interesting to see if the president is on his usual throne Saturday...

Where does he sit? I have never cared nor looked for him until now.

Can you provide me a copy or a link, so that I can judge for my self if Leath made the correct decision?

Also, why should I trust your assessment of the evidence over Leath's? I know about him and his background. I know nothing about you.

Well…what evidence do you want? The multiple pieces of evidence that the "victim" ruined for her court case?

I don't know anything about Leath. I don't need to. I know a lot about Bubu. I know a little about this girl. I've known Bubu since 2007. I've known this girl slightly longer. Anyone from Ames, prior to this case, who knew Bubu, would've told you he was a great, great kid. Anyone from Ames, prior to this case, who knew the "victim," would've told you she was a provocative girl, always looking for some excitement.

Hopefully Bubu uses better judgement in the future while under the influence. Now this media circus can die down.

Ever had sex with a woman while you and her were drinking? You better use better judgment in the future. And yes, hopefully this will die down and Fred and the boys can concentrate on basketball without interference. But if ISU doesn't settle this in the next couple of months it will come roaring back with the trial.

I want transcripts of the testimony that was given to the ALJ, including the questions asked to the complaintant, Palo, anyone else who was interviewed, and any other evidence Leath considered in his decision.

"She was asking for it." You can go EABOD. Right now. Go.

Wow. Why is the girl automatically off the hook on something like this? It was dismissed in a court of law and as far as I am concerned Bubu is as innocent as Brian Banks was.

Slight overreaction. I never said she was asking for it. I never said she was saying no, either.

The middle ages called. They want their horrible opinions back. Victim shaming is a horrible thing and that's exactly what you are doing there. And that's why a lot of rapes go unreported.

And this is why a lot of people get sent to prison wrongfully when someone has regrets in the morning or wants to get someone back for something they did.

I'm quite neutral about whether or not Bubu did anything wrong without the evidence that jbhtexas has been asking for. I have no tolerance for anyone who uses a phase like "she's always looking for excitement" as a defense of a suspected rapist.

See the problem is, she's not a victim.
