I really don't think anyone deserves to be fired or resign over this. I'm not aware of a single legitimate thing JP has done that has earned him all of this criticism. He came out with a statement last week that was a few sentences long and said they were disappointed with the decision. Many people then took that completely out of context, and now people think he needs to go and that Fred is leaving over this? That is ludicrous.

A lot of conjecture going on, which is human nature I guess, but I really don't understand how some of you are jumping to the conclusions that you are.

the ISU COC says any decision can be appealed to the district court. the district court rules the BOR was wrong. so there ya go. Now ISU is saying the district court was incorrect. so basically the BOAR is saying their own policy is wrong by letting it go to district court.

And that's all JP's fault?

I guess I don't understand how that relates to my post.

Re: Register Exclusive: ISU asks Supreme Court to keep Palo off men's basketball team

Perhaps what he was referring to was the fact that of the four sanctions, he only fought one of those sanctions.

But I don't see that as an admission of guilt. Obviously that's the one sanction that he really cares about, and the one that is the most time-sensitive, hence the motion for a stay of that sanction

Yeah, all the others are no big deal, it makes sense why he would only fight the most damaging one

Re: Register Exclusive: ISU asks Supreme Court to keep Palo off men's basketball team

You can't be serious, right?

What does Hoiberg tell recruits that ask him what will happen to them if they break up with a chick while at ISU and she falsely claims they raped her? Will Iowa State support me, or will they do to me what they did to Bubu Palo?

And if this leads to Hoiberg not being able to get good recruits to come here because they don't feel they will be supported here, and the team falls flat on it's face, do you think Fred is going to stick around to go down with the ship and let his coaching reputation suffer for it?

C'mon, you MUST be smarter than that, right? You honestly don't see any scenario where this could harm Fred's ability to recruit? And if he can't recruit and is strapped, you don't think he'd jump to the NBA? C'mon. Think!

Jesus Gladys, take a valium.

First kudos to you for getting to this point before flat out attacking my character. Usually that'sign of someone on a losing side of a debate so I'll count that as a good sign for what I'm arguing.

He did not say he violated the sexual misconduct code. What he did was not appeal the decision or the other 3 parts of the discipline imposed on him.

As for where it is: Bubu Palo: State response to ruling

see page 18 of the appeal:

"The stay allows Palo to pick and choose which sanctions he will be required to comply with after being found to have violated the sexual misconduct policy. Palo did not challange the sanction that was placed him on deferred suspension or required the completion of trainings."

Also some on it on page 7 second to last paragraph.
Also point 7 on page 4. in the statements of fact.

But you're right. I'm probably just a liar. Not like I already suggested everyone opining aimlessly in the thread actual read the appeal that was the basis for this thread existing. It's much easier just to keep going on the assumptions and conclusions we made before the most recent developments because reading an 18 page document is too time consuming but reading an 18 page thread and arguing about something we didn't read is simple.

Actually he is appealing the decision he just didn't seek a stay on the other items. But why would he. They do not impose harm. I don't see your point or exactly what you are trying to get at.

Leath takes 3 months to make a ruling. The BoR takes 3 months to make a ruling. The Assitant Attorney General requested additional time to file records with the Webster County District Judge, but when the ruling went against them it is amazing that they could get something done in only a few days.

The morning kxno idiots must get their info from CF. Talking about ISU was appealing to the SC. They need to stick to what they know best - video games and donuts.

I think it is pretty naive to think that the BoR is doing this without it being requested by President Least.

Re: Register Exclusive: ISU asks Supreme Court to keep Palo off men's basketball team

The court ruled that Palo was injured by the University.

The court did NOT rule that.

So much factually incorrectness in this thread. It would really help if people knew what they were talking about before spouting off.

Internet. I wish it would happen better, but it's the Internet.
I'm still not sure why the Illuminati have sent Obama and Ruth Harking after Bubu so ferociously, and what their bypassing of a sitting US Senator in favor of his wife has to instruct us about the calamitous conspiracy crushing our world, but the Internet will tell me soon enough.

Hopefully, with extreme questions like "do you believe Bubu raped the girl."

To those supporting the BoR, Leath, and Pollard. Are you saying Bubu raped the female in question?

What the **** kind of question is that?

Let me reiterate for the 19th time: THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BUBU PALO OR BASKETBALL!!!!

It has to do with the scope of judicial review of university decisions regarding students and the code of conduct.
