Browns Replacement Coach Official Thread. Could CMC be the man?

Will CMC go to Cleveland?

There are MAYBE 2 jobs in the big 12 better than Cleveland and that is Texas and OU. Even then the NFL is more attractive to a HC imo. These are ego driven coaches. They want to match up with the best of the best.

Perhaps, unless you’re into money and prefer not to work for a crook.

Jackson made the same as to what Iowa State paid a coach with 2 years of P5 experience

You must be new to these coaching searches. Remember when all the Toledo fans were giving all the reasons CMC would rather be in Toledo than Ames? If you want to be the delusional fan that thinks everyone dreams of coaching at ISU that is your choice. I love ISU and Ames but I also live in the real world. Unless you grew up in this state and went to school at ISU you likely don't have aspirations of being here forever.

Stop being emotional and resorting to straw-mans.

The real world is that Cleveland has paid poorly and not many top P5 coaches would leave for that. If it’s a business decision, he easily may stay. If it’s not, you don’t know ****.

The reason I don't take you guys seriously about any of this is because you would be saying the same stuff if we were talking about the Steelers. Iowa State>Steelers right? You guys are completely delusional about ISU and that's fine. Just like Tim Floyd and Fred Hoiberg. We have seen this before.

Honestly, if a Big 12 coach is going to be on the Browns sideline next year, it is infinitely more likely to be Lincoln Riley than CMC.

The only takeaway I had from that video is that was an uncomfortably long handshake

Convinced that Snyder is not a vampire at all but a Wraith alien from Stargate Atlantis universe. The Wraith feed by sucking the life force from people through their palms. Pretty sure Snyder was trying to consume Campbell but The Process protected him.

I think you are probably right considering his relationship with Mayfield. Not sure though. I hear ISU is a better job than Cleveland so OU must be 3x the job as the Browns.

Unless, of course, you like stability and longevity. Actually making a name for yourself.

Remind me again. How did taking an NFL job work out for Chip Kelly?

Also you know... liking the things that make college coaching college coaching.

Campbell seems like much more of a college coach to me. The type that has full control, and the type that is much more about molding his group of young guys. You listen to him talk and it seems like he cares more about that than the money or anything else. He won't have that nearly as much at an NFL job.

A Big 12 program.
Great and supportive fan base
Making millions of dollars per year
Big man on campus
Solid footing in Midwest (Ohio) and Texas recruiting
Big time job security.

Or.

Cleveland?

Maybe ISU is a better job? Cleveland is a **** franchise in a **** city, and he'll probably end up getting fired within 2 seasons.

He's more likely to go to Ohio State and freaking Cleveland.

Get out of here with this Cleveland crap. LOL....

The reality is that most all coaches take a bigger challenge if it comes up no matter what they have going. It's always been like that and it probably always will be. I mean why the hell does Jimbo leave FSU to go to A&M? Why does Harbaugh leave Stanford?

$$$$ and the challenge of coaching in the NFL for the most part. Then throw in the fact that he would be going back home. Tough to pass up. We see it all the time.

I dont consider ISU to be a better job than an NFL job. But it is a better move than Cleveland. If he is regarded that highly, stay another year until a decent job opens up. Don't jump at the first opportunity just because it's in the NFL.

If you want to compare to Hoiberg, then it was very apparent he would have been better off to wait rather than jump at Chicago. Very well could have been the Timberwolves HC instead.
