How does Bama not have a five star QB committed already?? Playoffs every year and they’re chasing a three star this late in the game? That’s like Brad Pitt stealing my prom date at the last second. **** off, Brad- you get plenty of tail.

Brad Pitt would probably bang your wife, for what it's worth. Talk about out kicking your coverage.

I’d like to see a chart or something showing the QB’s we’ve started/significantly used since Austin Arnaud (the last regular starter I can think of) and the time frame they played. I bet we have averaged over 2.5 starters a year. QB depth is a must have until we can prove some sort of consistency at the position.

No chart, but I checked to see who was the last QB to start a full season a while ago and these were my findings:

We definitely had more than two starters every year from 2008 through 2017
Austen Arnaud started every game in 2008. Philip Bates played some QB, but I don't think he started.
In 2007, I can't remember if Arnaud started any games, or if he just spelled Bret Meyer.
In 2006 Bret Meyer took almost every snap, with Austin Flynn and the punter Brandtner taking just a handful.

Thought this was interesting from an article on Bama's remaining targets. Tells me Purdy isn't their #1 target.

Brock Purdy was originally offered by Alabama as a preferred walk-on. He ended up receiving a full scholarship offer earlier this month. Some recruits would be a bit peeved at a school for not fully committing to him from the start, but Purdy doesn’t care. He told SEC Country on Sunday that Alabama, Iowa State and UCF are his top-3 schools. He also said that the Tide staff was going to meet this week to decide which quarterback it wants this year, so that’s interesting to note. He’s expected to wait until Signing Day to make his decision.

My take is one of the other two is their #1but he may not want to sit behind the Hawaiian for two or three years.

Underneath that one linked article, it said Purdy was their #1 qb target for 2018. Why do I get the feeling that he's going to commit to Alabama, or somewhere else? Heck, I don't even know why I think that. lol

Brock Purdy is definitely the name of a winning quarterback.

Kind of one of those Shane Falco type of names.

You always need a one syllable first name and two syllable last name.

I just trademarked the phrase "that was a Purdy pass". PM me on where to send the checks.

Brock - I hope you enjoyed your visit to sweaty, squinty-eyed Alabama.

https://n.rivals.com/news/qb-brock-purdy-to-break-down-favorites-this-week

There had been some whispers recently that Iowa State had emerged as the favorite for Purdy but he said there’s no truth to it. First, the three-star quarterback needs to discuss things with his family and then a top team should emerge.

“No, it's not true,” Purdy said of the Iowa State rumors. “I'm sitting down with my family this week to evaluate all the schools. As of now, everyone is equal.”

I don't really like what I just read in this article. I have a hard time believing all the schools could actually be equal, just the way he worded that the rumors aren't true causes my mind to think negatively for our chances. Hopefully our full court press of sending all the offensive coordinators down will tip the scales into our favor. If I were a betting man, I'd put money on Bama to win this battle. :( Really, really hope I'm wrong!!!!
