Breaking Bad

On the teaser on Talking Bad Gilligan just stated said that the title of the last episode "Felina" is an anagram for finale, and only had one word to describe it... Wood working. Wow, I can't wait for this.

We need anagrams for "wood working"

Edit: the word "king" is in there.

And I can't help but think "Felina" is a throwback to the old Marty Robbins song "El Paso."

Doesn't it have to come down to Walt and Jesse somehow? I'm guessing Walt is going to have a decision if he wants to save Jesse or not and he will do it. Or maybe it is a Jesse or himself type of situation and he chooses Jesse. Either way a lot of Nazis are go going to get shot up this episode.

How are they going to close all of this out in an episode and a half. I'm feeling like there's got to be plenty of people upset with the way this ends.

Why? This is the best series of final episodes to any show I have ever seen. Nothing to be upset with at all!

I think someone mentioned earlier that Felina is FeLiNa (iron, lithium, salt) which could be Blood, Meth, Tears.

I saw that too and thought it was cool. Iron's in blood, salt is in tears... But lithium isn't in meth, right? C10H15N?

He was going to turn himself in until he saw them on television. They made it clear with that last scene that he is going to kill them.

I didn't see it that way. Walt is not going to kill his former colleagues just because they "Disrespected him..." and I think she was actually very complimentary of him (Of course they had to distance themselves and their company from him but she talked about how great a man he was). It would be very out of character for Walt to do go hunt down these people.

I think the guns are for Todd and Co., Ricin is for Lydia.

But ultimately, he'll have to prove it to them directly. That's his ego at work.

By coming back to AQ, and probably going out in some sort of blaze of glory, maybe even trying to right some of his wrongs, specifically bringing the Nazis in.... not by killing his former colleagues out of spite.

I think Walt wants to break good and I think between listening to his former colleagues talk about what a great man Walt was and Jr telling him to die, that Walt wants to repent, or transform as much as possible back into the man he was. Or at least do good.

Perhaps the ultimate tragedy is that he will fail at doing these things.

I was about to write a novel about how I interpreted it, but instead I will just say that I think she hit his ego hard and he simply wants to prove that he's still around and still alive.
I agree. He heard the blue meth is back and he wants the world to know either that he's still Heisenberg (you're god damn right).

I think Walt goes to his former colleagues makes them know he is still alive, lets them know he put 2 and 2 together and they are the ones behind Lydia and tells them that his family gets a piece of their action or he rats them/kills them. He then kills the Nazi clan (machine gun), frees Jesse (although I would prefer if he killed Jesse) and goes to see his family and dies with them (takes the ricin).

Also since the blue meth is back perhaps he's figured out that the nazis are using Jesse to cook. Remember he left them thinking that they were going to kill Jesse after they extracted the information. Now that he knows Jesse still lives perhaps he's worried that the feds will get to him again and use that against his family.

Why do you think Gray Matter is behind Lydia? Not any evidence to put together that would lead Walt to that conclusion. Would be kinda crazy if they were.

I will be very disappointed if it turns out Gray Matter is behind Lydia. Seems like it would be a cop out writing wise.

Which won't happen. This season has been written almost perfectly so far.

My wife and I are watching the final season of Dexter (no spoilers please!) now and the writing/storyline/episodes seem like they are written by a high schooler compared to Breaking Bad.

It just seemed from the interview that they knew alot about the Meth problem worldwide, prolly reading to much into it.

Woodworking? Todd's uncle referred to Lydia's female anatomy as a wood-chipper, did he not?
I think Jesse kills Lydia some how (after finding out Todd has 'feelings' for her) and also the reference back to the wood box that he made for his mother and ended up selling for some weed and having some talent in woodworking. Maybe it will be Gilligan's ode to the movie 'Fargo' and the woodchipper. Who knows, but I think that may be behind the woodworking reference and allowing for Jesse to have his revenge. Just maybe Walt allows Jesse to be able to enact this specific revenge.

As to the Ricin - as much as they showed Skylar smoking (fore-shadowing has been such a big thing of the series), I can't get out of my head that Skylar ends up smoking the ricin-laced cigarette. Don't know how that would fit into everything. I still think the first moment I remember Walt showing anger/evil was when Gretchen Schwartz offered to pay for his chemotherapy and the whole story behind why he is the way he is resulted from what happened with Gretchen & Elliot & Gray Matter. Walt was dating her (Gretchen) and he left her while she went on a family vacation and Gray Matter went on to become a multi-billion dollar company. There is a reason why Walt left and I am thinking it was Skylar, with whom he had a child with a debilitating disease who now wishes him dead, a young daughter he will not be able to see grow up.
