Bowl Game Projections

So how does it actually work? Are all the bowl reps in a big room taking turns to pick? Is it like a pro draft? Or is there a commissioner who gets everyone's preferences and then sorts it out like an NCAA god? It would be fun to watch.

Two differences:

1. Not many Iowa State fans went to Boise. Lots could go to Memphis.

2. Different coach, different attitude.
The biggest difference is that this time I don't expect several starters to stop going to classes and be ineligible for the bowl game. This had much more to do with the outcome in comparison to how many people were sitting in the stands.

Same. However, we wouldn't be in this situation if we would win 8+ so it is what it is.
The crummy thing is that we actually did win at least 8 games. But the bowls probably don’t go back and watch the games of the teams they are choosing between.

I get why fans going would like Memphis, its a good trip and a fun time but as far as watching on TV, a boring stadium,a boring opponent and an 1130 kickoff make for about the least appealing bowl game possible. Playing Memphis in Memphis would be a really anticlimactic ending to such a great season. I always feel like beating a g5 team in a bowl game doesn't build the same kind of momentum beating a bigger name team does for the program going forward.

Wrong. During the game didnt the play by play guy say someone from the Alamo Bowl game committee watched our kstate game or the game before. I feel like they are watching the teams they are interest in..

This should be the New Year's 6, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the bowls goes "outside the box."
Orange: Ohio State vs. Miami
Cotton: Wisconsin vs. TCU
Peach: Auburn vs. UCF
Fiesta: USC vs. Penn State

Who is next in line? That seems very reasonable

I should have clarified that I was talking mainly about the Camping World Bowl. They couldn’t have time to go back and watch all of the games I the hour they have between finding out TCU is in or out of the NY6. I would be surprised if they do. But they don’t care about most deserving, rather $. I wonder how they measure potential $ invlolved.

Those bowls don't get to pick teams. The committee does all of the pairings.

It would suck to have to play Memphis in Memphis..but they are ranked in the top 25. Not a bad team like you all seem to be projecting.

I get not wanting to play Memphis IN Memphis, but why would that be boring? Memphis' offense is fun to watch. They put up a ton of points.
