I think they should drag this out to the week before Christmas to announce bowl pairings. I do think bowl attendance is hurt by not having this settled by Thanksgiving weekend. This is all so weird.

Sounds like a good time to me. Not disappointed at all.
we went last time and except for the outcome of the game really enjoyed it. I don't know if we'd go again, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. Plus, you'd likely have a better atmosphere than with a different G5 team. I'd rather play a different P5 team like NCSU, but Memphis wouldn't be a bad draw

For everyone who does not mind us going to the Liberty Bowl to play Memphis, recall the last time this happened. We played Boise State in Boise and the outcome was not good. It was a home game for Boise just like the Liberty Bowl would be a home game for Memphis.

Two differences:

1. Not many Iowa State fans went to Boise. Lots could go to Memphis.

2. Different coach, different attitude.

Yep, and everyone knows that 15 year old bowl game results are the best indicator for future games. Surprised that they are even going to play the game since it's such a forgone conclusion.

The point is that ISU doesn't get to bowl games often enough for this fan base to be acting so entitled. I will be happy to get any bowl we can get and do my best to get to them. Memphis happens to make that the easiest for me, so the prospect of the liberty bowl is a great one. So is Orlando though. And so is Houston. I'm going to be happy wherever we end up.
