The biggest difference is that this time I don't expect several starters to stop going to classes and be ineligible for the bowl game. This had much more to do with the outcome in comparison to how many people were sitting in the stands. Two differences:
1. Not many Iowa State fans went to Boise. Lots could go to Memphis.
2. Different coach, different attitude.
I'm sick of playing non P5 teams in some crappy bowl in their own home town.
Even the Rutgers game was IMHO a crappy deal...despite that they're kinda a P5 team.
I want a real P5 team not less than 3 hours from their home stadium.
The crummy thing is that we actually did win at least 8 games. But the bowls probably don’t go back and watch the games of the teams they are choosing between.Same. However, we wouldn't be in this situation if we would win 8+ so it is what it is.

And it appears the NY6 games aren't even announced till 2 pm.
Wrong. During the game didnt the play by play guy say someone from the Alamo Bowl game committee watched our kstate game or the game before. I feel like they are watching the teams they are interest in..The crummy thing is that we actually did win at least 8 games. This should be the New Year's 6, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the bowls goes "outside the box."
Orange: Ohio State vs. Miami
Cotton: Wisconsin vs. TCU
Peach: Auburn vs. UCF
Fiesta: USC vs. Penn State
I should have clarified that I was talking mainly about the Camping World Bowl. They couldn’t have time to go back and watch all of the games I the hour they have between finding out TCU is in or out of the NY6. I would be surprised if they do. But they don’t care about most deserving, rather $. I wonder how they measure potential $ invlolved.Wrong. Isn’t it Washington? I keep seeing TCU/WashingtonWho is next in line? That seems very reasonable
I get why fans going would like Memphis, its a good trip and a fun time but as far as watching on TV, a boring stadium,a boring opponent and an 1130 kickoff make for about the least appealing bowl game possible. Playing Memphis in Memphis would be a really anticlimactic ending to such a great season. I always feel like beating a g5 team in a bowl game doesn't build the same kind of momentum beating a bigger name team does for the program going forward.
