Went on a bike ride with son on Sunday. I saw a bird flying away from me with some light green coloration. I didn't get a great look at it due to the orientation and movement but I'm guessing it was a warbling vireo.

I don't generally snap photos while cycling so this isn't mine.

Female Oriole last week and an Indigo Bunting this AM. The Bunting was squabbling with a male Cardinal. The Cardinal flew off before I could get the phone ready. Is that a female Oriole? Can someone confirm? Google lens and other sources say so. I have never seen one before.

Could have been a Tennessee warbler. They are fairly plentiful right now.

Yep, you're correct!

What confused me was that in the brief flash of it I saw flying directly away from me it looked like the light green was mostly confined to the breast and under wings and the back and top of wings coloration reminded me of a robin's.

Hmm, tough to say. There aren't a ton of birds with green coloration. I've been fooled by foliage reflecting onto a lighter breast to make it appear green, too.

Saw a Pileated Woodpecker in a tree behind a gas station in the middle of town while grabbing lunch. Heard it first and then saw. Horrible picture but can kind of see it. Wasn’t really expecting to find anything exciting at that point so wasn’t camera ready. Flew off right after I snapped that.

Double firsts for me this afternoon, a screech owl perched and not in a cavity and little owlet screech owls for the double bonus. Will upload photos after I get them off camera. Dad is red morph and mom is a grey. Not sure what the owlets are at this point, one looked maybe a little red.

Canada Warbler in our Oak tree this AM, says Merlin. I can't see it. I hate that. It is almost teasing.

I’m getting better at spotting them but still so frustrating. I’m constantly under a tree Merlin says has a yellow warbler in it. Have yet to spot one. And they are BRIGHT YELLOW
