Mizzou couldn't make a shot either time they played us, but they are quick and play with aggression and passion. Last year, I told everyone that I knew that Missouri was going deep in the tourney, and no one believed me because they didn't have any big-name players on their team. They went to the Elite 8, and not because of great talent; they are fast, never quit, and generally smart with ball movement and help defense.
Point is, Mike Anderson is a heck of a coach, and if we could find someone as tough-nosed as him to take over after GMac, we could really compete. He doesn't take crap from his players, and they are athletic and physical. Maybe Mike Davis is a guy like this? I'd love it if we brought in a guy like Bobby Knight or John Chaney to coach our team, someone who is going to expect greatness from his players AND put them in a position where they can be successful on and off the court. I certainly don't want any fake, conceited coach who doesn't care about our program, and I know that Gillispie would be that kind of guy. He's in the same league as Calipari or Roy Williams for me. BTW, completely irrelevant, but can anyone else just not get enough of UNC this year? There is no man who deserves to be slapped down as much as Roy. Tool.
Gosh, look around us. K-State with Martin, Minnesota with Tubby, UNI with Jacobson, Missouri with Anderson...we missed out, guys. These are 4 programs that, when we hired GMac, were worse than they currently are, and they're all much improved over the long-haul (Minnesota's having a tougher year this year).

Look... I know what you are doing.... You don't want to kick GMAC in the twins because he is a nice guy. I respect that. However... I want to kick him in the twins until he leaves town either by choice or being forced out. I can't help it... I am far beyond the point of no return with him.:realmad::realmad::realmad::realmad:
Quite possibly the worst part about that loss was that when it was late, we are up 2 or 3 ....we could not get a stop if they had a gun to their heads....it was ridiculous some of the shots that mizzou made but regardless ....we just couldnt get it when we needed:no:

I do, however, feel better having the hope that BG could show up here. I like the idea of a loose cannon. It's just fun being the bully instead of the whipping boy.

My personal favorite was letting a guy go coast to coast for the game winning basket and nobody even attempted to get in his way until he was 3 feet from the basket. That is great situational awareness from the players. That EPIC FAIL is the direct result of poor coaching. How is it that our guys didn't understand that slowing him down gives him a much more rushed, longer, and more difficult look at the basket? Are you kidding me? Wow.
I agree 100% and i have 2 questions that i dont know the answer to....when there was 11 seconds left, tie game and we had the ball what the hell was the gameplan for a final shot? Did we have any timeouts left and the second question is....did we have any fouls to give? If we had a foul to give then McD you have failed us again! If that play from Christopherson to Dendy was the plan.....McD you have failed us again! I just dont remember exactly what happened before we took the ball out either was it a timeout by ISU? If not then McD ....you have failed again!:no:
We had a timeout left with 11 seconds left, but we had a 2 on 1 fastbreak. If McD would've called a TO all hell would've broken loose. That screw up is on the players. And no, we had no fouls to give, the game was in overtime and fouls continue over. We were at 10 in regulation.
That is a whole lot of fail you are talking about there. :biglaugh:
Anybody else notice how Mizzou during each part of the later stages of the game when they needed a key basket to either tie or take the lead used a timeout and their coach drew up plays that they executed with flawless precision? Seriously... how many plays did Anderson draw up that worked? One to tie the game in regulation, one to tie the game late in OT and one to win the game right at the end if my memory serves me correctly. Why can't our coach do this? Just more food for thought....

You can't or you won't? If you can't, you should notify a mod and they can help you with that. If you won't, I can't make you but I would appreciate it. A sentence could push your message just as effectively and be much less annoying.

I'm glad the "4 DUI" BS got cleared up. He has been stopped on suspicion of it three times, and the charge only stuck once. That's a big difference than some of the crap people have been spewing.
I know different states have different laws on DUIs, but I would imagine the man would be in jail if he seriously had four.

I have thought about this and I guess I am just not a coach firer kind of person. I have said that I don't think Mac will work in the long run, I just think some more of this falls on the players than people say. The players should be able to provide hustle. I don't see that a lot of the time and most of the time it is the two guys that should be willing this team to win.
Have you watched ISU play? Our ******* fundamentals are **** poor across the board. Their is no team indentity or teamwork. We are pathetic. It is year 4 of this crap. It all falls on McD.
Seriously, nice enough guy, but a weak-*** coach. The sooner he is gone the better, I don't care how it is done anymore.
Most high school teams look better coached than we did last night. I seriously bet there is better organization in pick-up games at the rec center in Ames.

This. Great post. I originally was in Yaman3's position on GMAC. I hoped he would turn things around and be a part of our success but now I can't hope for that anymore. That is just never going to happen. I can't operate on hope anymore. Now I need change and that is the only thing that is going to satisfy me.
