I wasn't responding to Gillispie (although I am adamantly against ANYONE with 4 DUIs).
I was responding to posts like the one below, which seems to be saying to me that we shouldn't value honor before victory.
The evidence on Mac being able to win at ISU is a lot more concrete and obvious then whether or not Billy G has turned his life around.
I think the mere fact that Gillespie's name is out there again might infer his treatment was at least mostly successful?
There's no evidence to support that assumption. He needs to be working and go longer before any conclusions can be drawn.

Bringing back McD next year will result in a massive drop in ticket sales and a general disinterest in Iowa State basketball by many. Hiring BG runs a slight risk that he gets in trouble again, but would re-generate interest in Iowa State basketball and put butts in seats. Your the AD...what do you decide?

You're correct, there is no proof of it, but it's a logical progression as part of the base case.
Show me the proof that they're not squeaky clean. Don't call someone naive without facts.
What a **** thing to say. They have not had the season they hav wanted, but work there tails off week in and week out and have had nothing but heartbreak. Its not like we are getting killed every week. I have no problem wanting a coaching staff, but don't be an *** to the players, its easy to call someone a loser from your computer screen...
Not as much as you would think. Maybe massive is a bit of hyperbole, but you really think fans aren't sick of seeing this? You think, given the choice, they wont save the money on season tickets and maybe hit a game if they are good?
And on the BG topic, I agree with what someone said earlier, the fact that he is being rumored for coaching jobs indicate that most believe he has been rehabilitated. So put a little more midly:
If you are the athletic director, do you, seeing the trend of a decrease in ticket sales and a frustration amongst many about the direction of the program, or do you look to hire a coach who has proven at one point to be one of the best coaches in the nation who seems to have been rehabilitated from his alocholism?
