Sounds like a lot of the naysayers have no plans to attend games at Jack Trice anyway for a whole multitude of reasons. Even if we were winning games they would not go.
35 minutes in and you already win the dumbest post of the day.
We can afford it. Pollard is in love with his hires and will not let go.
Not true in this case. Pollard and CPR have a good working relationship, but it's very businesslike. Pollard has already told CPR that it's bowl game or a new coach when next year concludes.
Yes, this is correct. He would have been gone if we could have afforded it.

Are you sure about this? I hope it is true and that you have some sort of inside knowledge.
I don't think anyone but Pollard and CPR know that for sure, but it is pretty safe to assume that is the situation, and then some of the guys that can't wait to fire CPR can move on the hating the next guy when he doesn't win enough games for their plans.

Personally, I think that having aspirations (or at the very least, expectations) for the football program is much better than blind loyalty to whoever happens to be the current head coach at Iowa State University.
I can top that. Lets go get Rex Ryan as head coach, just need a clause that none of the female staff can wear shoes or socks at any time.35 minutes in and you already win the dumbest post of the day.
I just hope people do not have their hopes up very much for next season. Do I want ISU to make a bowl game? Yes, for sure. For that to happen ISU would need to have one of the biggest turnarounds in the nation as far as wins from one season to the next. The chances of that happening are pretty small.
We may have gotten a couple of recruits but this is way different than basketball, you need about several guys per class to field a proper team unless there is really good coaching. ISU is so far away from Big 12 caliber players in the front 7 on D and across the O-line it is not even funny.
Will ISU be improved next season? Yes, I think we win about 4 maybe 5 at the ceiling with this staff. (I know they are staying!) I think with a decent staff a bowl game could happen fairly easily with the way the schedule sets up. Look at the way OU is getting pounded right now. We were smoked by them and as most folks know, they are not very good.
I just wish Pollard would have pulled the trigger after this season. THe schedule sets up so nice for ISU next year to breakout with 8 wins. This just seems to be another 'Iowa State' moment where we can't seize a potential opportunity. Again, I hope I am wrong about all this, I guess we will see after next season. Hopefully this site is not blowing up with traffic on a new coaching search. Should Pollard get another chance at a football hire? He chose Chizik over Kelly, Briles and Harbaugh...and then Rhoads over who even knows. The one thing I like is that HC Wells at Utah State is still available. Perhaps we can get him after next season.
