Everyone is reading too much into this. Any school on his list would not suprise me if he picks them.

For those who think having the public invited and all that is a good sign, i.e. those in charge know which school he is selecting...wouldn't that practically insure that this info would leak out? I'm in the crowd that thinks this is just standard PC setup.
No, one was soccer to Mount Mercy, another soccer to Morningside, and another volleyball to Mount Mercy.
Having the public invited is not standard, IMO. Having snacks afterward...well, yeah...formality. And it isn't a statement of whether those in charge know where he is going, because they likely don't. I think HB is in charge of his own announcement and if he doesn't want something, it wouldn't be there.
Wow, I could totally see Morningside being a rogue program, but Mount Mercy? This saddens me.
Are they SURE he'll announce at 3:30 PM? ... I heard from a friend that 3:30AM was still in the picture. Also that midnight might be the darkhorse.
I'm not into hyperbole, but you seriously think Barnes is inviting Cyclone fans (and the "general public" around here means Cyclone fans) just so he can announce another school in front of them? Seriously?
The real question is whether he's got a ticket for the game Friday night or not. Check his pockets.
While I'll be extremely disappointed if HB doesnt commit to ISU, I dont think anyone should "meltdown". It's like trying to get the hottest girl at the bar to come home with you. Great if she does, but if not, its just another day in the real world.
If we lose to Colorado on Saturday, then we can meltdown!
Agree for the most part, except there are many hot girls in bars, not a lot of #1 recruits coming out of Ames, Iowa.
I guess what I was trying to say is that it is encouraging news....But, it is standard for all these top players to get in a gym in front of their fellow student body and friends and announce. I am not sure how many people the Ames Gym holds, but I would imagine most the gym will be Ames Students and staff and Media.

I think if HB was declaring for anyone but ISU he would respect coach Mac enough not to declare for somewhere else hours before their home opener. I mean he has spent a lot of time with these guys. But thats just my opinion.
Yeah, if he isnt coming to ISU, then the unofficial visit he took there this past weekend had to be a little awkward. He has a very strong relationship with Mac and the players. Kinda sad to "flirt" with them in the midnight hour if he isnt going to ISU.
