Barnes Decision at 3:10 on Friday

I think cyclonefanatics will lay face down on the ground end to end from Ames High School to the Jacobson Building to form a human sidewalk for Harrison to walk on.

It's astonishing that the state of North Carolina hasn't imploded from the combined arrogance of Duke and UNC fans.

Their meltdowns will be fun to read on Friday:yes:

Or ours will be, I think people are reading way too much into these obscure details.

Being a Cyclone fan, I'm assuming he isn't coming to ISU until I hear differently.:rolleyes5cz:

I've been a Cyclone fan my whole life.... so I'm used to being kicked right in the groin. I won't expect anything different this Friday until I'm proven wrong. It hurts a lot less if you don't have expectations for anything related to Cyclone athletics.

You don't go there to boo, you go to see local hometown kid and #1 recruit in the country announce where he is going with your favorite team ISU being a possibility. I was there when Mac was announced as head coach and when Chizik was announced. This is similar, just with a very uncertain outcome.

I'd guess if he announces ISU the place goes crazy.

If he announces UCLA, UNC, or Duke he gets some boos 1/4 or 1/2 the people. Most people stick around for the press to ask why not ISU. Then people start leaving.

If he announces KU the place erupts in boos. People are leaving. Not pretty. Shouldn't have been announced like this.

I wasn't going to go. Now I'm going. I have to see this if he picks ISU. It would be history making for ISU.

For the record if he picks UCLA, UNC, or Duke I'll clap nicely, very briefly, and stick around for the press questions. If he picks KU I won't boo, but I'll walk out during the thing.

The announcing of a new coach is totally different in my opinion.

HB is going to be on Soundoff on Sunday Night ... Murph and Andy says it doesn't mean anything but we all know better. Go Cyclones and Go Harrison!

It means something...a bigger audience than normal no matter where he decides to go to school.

What did they do with Kevin Love? His situation is about as similar to Harrison's as anyone I can think of...

Great point...how was the Love signing handled? Does anyone know.

I have a feeling that UCLA may not be the non-issue in this process that everyone else seems to think.

I do remember when UCLA went back to play Oregon, that had extra sercurity for the Love Family and Friends and it still got ugly....

Ok. We need someone in Ames to check the receipts from all the sports stores in town to see if anyone has purchased any Duke, UNC, KU, OU, UCLA, or ISU hats this week. Then check the credit card numbers to see if any come up as belonging to HB or anyone in his family.

Star on a Good ISU Team

I think he may still be making his decision. Based on what I've read in the papers during the last week, it sounds like there is nice talent coming to ISU. It looks like a very appealing team. Solid big guys. A true point guard who doesn't mind feeding him the ball. A gap for scoring when Brackins goes pro. Or a dual-scoring threat if somehow he stays. Imagine that!

He will be an immediate star on the best team ISU has had in years. Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. Then Big 12 Player of the Year. His entire college career will be super high profile.

I hope he is realistic. He could go to KU, NC, or Duke and be on the bench! At ISU, he would be a star!

I'm not doubting his talent. But whose starting spot would he be taking at KU if he was there this year?

My point is that HB would be an immediate star for as long as he wants at ISU. If he goes to KU, NC, Duke, or UCLA, it will still be an uphill climb to be a star. They get Top 10 recruits each year with his talent.

On top of that, HB can come back after his playing days are over and do play by play with Hoiberg on he Cyclone Radio Network....I doubt he would want to for any other school if he is only around for 1 year.
