Why stick around and be miserable? Why root for the demise of our program and Campbell.

Believe or not I agree with everything you say here except this......
No one nearly popped a big one...and no one got tripped up. They were mauled.
And this is why even after a win people are skeptical of Matt. Because it seemed even playing against the worst major college secondary I have seen in some time he was H bent on running. He adjusted.....he had to.....or ISU was going to lose......to that team.
We shouldn't have a coach who has to be drug kicking and screaming to adjust his scheme for a win against a p*** poor team like that.
I know he has stated winning the conference was never a goal.....fine. But how about trying to win every game, in any way you can. This isn't DIII Union and unless you have the horses......your way may not work no matter how many times you try.
And if I may use some of his trusted catch phrases....hopefully he understands that and what we saw yesterday was his "process" undergoing "growth".
I am so tired of hearing the Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 blah blah blah. It's like how stupid investors and corporations think. The line can't and never will always go up. Look at Bama and Clemson right now. Did Saban and Swinney forget how to coach? Nope. But their current crop of players isn't quite as good, or maybe these guys aren't gelling as well as past teams, etc. It doesn't matter what year it is, as this isn't the NFL where you can have your franchise QB for 10+ years.
In saying that, yes there are coaching philosophies Campbell clearly needs to drop the pride on and adapt. But take our dumb rival Iowa. They could have canned Kirk several times because "Hey it's year 10 WTF?" And then they turn around and win 10+ games, go to the Big Ten Championship, etc.

Two separate times Eli was tripped and if he had managed to get by would have been gone. Second half when we finally showed some pulse a few times in running. Rocco played great.

Didn’t watch the game? Sanders WAS really close to popping at least one big one in the fourth. The last defender just barely tripped him. Still it was a nice run and a nice gain.

I hope our coach understands what you just stated because if it takes almost the entire game against a team like that to almost get one.....in the fourth....maybe his "process" on pounding the ball needs to find some "growth".
We haven't played anyone really, really good yet. Do you know how close we are to being 4-0? And it isn't because of the players.
Happy for the win... but beating one of the worst teams in CFB by 7 points and calling it a great win is... something.

After watching Iowa last night, it is apparent ISU should be 4-0 if Campbell would have opened it up offensively, as many of us have been calling for.
Always happy to see the players get a win, as well as the loyal fans. They so deserve it.
Most people are capable of enjoying a win and also talking about what needs to be improved.
Don’t be ignorant. Sanders had several decent runs. The one play I referenced was as close to a Breece Hall type run as I have seen from this group. We don’t have a Hall in the group but they are young and we saw some positive stuff from Sanders today. Why be so negative? If we show a willingness to pass and have success like this game, it will only help the running game. If you hate our coach and the process, why don’t you check out for the season. I’m going to enjoy watching these young guys get better.
The offensive line needs to improve a lot. Getting Remsburg back is going be a big positive. Sanders and Jackson earned more touches. Rocco is a gamer. Definitely positive things we can build on.
And I’m so tired of seeing people crapping on the players to stan the coaching staff, when we have seen ample evidence over the years that the latter is the problem.
If you think OSU is worse than UNI, then I think you are just looking for a reason to dismiss the win.
I think our fanbase has let this OSU is horrible narrative get a bit carried away. They were terrible last week. They went on the road and beat ASU by two scores. ASU pushed USC well into the 4th quarter yesterday.
OSU isn’t good but people are getting carried away.
I thought the players brought their A game all day. Outside of some missed tackles on OSU’s long run, scheme and play calling is what held them back. I posted this in another thread:

-Squibb kick with 45 seconds in the first half after the kicker has been booming it out of the end zone
-Prevent defense to follow which of course gives up an easy three points
-Running the ball 75% of the time up two scores instead of trying to put the game away along with continuing the shot gun draw or run up the middle for losses or 1 yard gains
-Telling your RB to get down in bounds with 2+ mins left when a first down may win the game might be the most conservative play I saw in 12 hours of watching football yesterday.
Again, very happy we won and saw huge offensive improvement but we gave the opposing team continued chances to stay in the game when, if we kept doing what got us to that point, we win by 2+ scores.”

Where in my post did I call out OUR players? I talked about Bama and Clemson’s players and overall talking about how it doesn’t matter what year you are in. Every single program and coach that has success has down years or rough seasons.
Our players are pretty solid and I don’t think Campbell has done his job letting go of his pride on offensive philosophy, which is literally what I said in my post. Reading is hard.
