Seasons 2 and 3 are much better than season 1. Running jokes, continuation of early plot lines, and the cast is completely gelled. I love that show. The love quandry of Michael Bluth Jr. and Maybe is beyond hilarious. With all the funny movie talk I thought I'd throw out a show that the word "genius" actually applies to. I've only seen the first 1.5 seasons so far but some of the writing is complete genius and is combined with great comedic talent.
Did you start at the beginning? If so, wait until the season 2 finale. Best episode of TV ever.
Best TV show ever, and it's not even close.

Mmm, I dunno. I guess I didn't get into it as much as It's Always Sunny. I also like a few other shows like Friday Night Lights, Lost, and the first 3 seasons of Nip/Tuck along with Dexter. I have never like The Office either so maybe my humor is just a little different than most.

It's great. One of my favorites. But I wouldn't go this far. IMO, it's right there w/South Park, Always Sunny, Seinfeld, and Trailer Park Boys. Even. Not ahead.
wrong and wrong. all great shows, but they pale in comparison to the brilliance of AD.
I think we're looking at differences in comedic preference here. I love the dialogue of Always Sunny. It doesn't have the recurring story lines of AD, but the dialogue in a given episode is unparalleled in terms of sheer comedic value. I also love the way the characters in Always Sunny have developed. AD is excellent, and was killed far, far too soon, but I prefer what Always Sunny does.
