With all the funny movie talk I thought I'd throw out a show that the word "genius" actually applies to. I've only seen the first 1.5 seasons so far but some of the writing is complete genius and is combined with great comedic talent.

I did. I'll get to the end of season 2 later this week probably. You can watch Season 1 on hulu.com.

Seasons 2 and 3 are much better than season 1. Running jokes, continuation of early plot lines, and the cast is completely gelled. I love that show. The love quandry of Michael Bluth Jr. and Maybe is beyond hilarious.

You either get that show or you don't. It's not bag on anyone's intelligence, the humor just doesn't click for eveyone. For my money there has never been a better show on television. With as excellent a level of writing they were able to maintain through three seasons, I trust the movie (if it ever finally comes to fruition) will be great too.

I can't even begin to choose a favorite character. They are all so full of one-liners.

Agreed with HotDon. It's an acquired taste. I thought it was great. Can't wait for the movie.

I love this show. It's just one of the best written things ever on TV. There are a few different things in season 3 that I don't love (I'm not a huge fan of the MRF story line for some reason), but it's the best 2.75-ish seasons of TV out there.

Best TV show ever, and it's not even close.

Did you start at the beginning? If so, wait until the season 2 finale. Best episode of TV ever.

My 2 favorite episodes are "Beef Consomme" and "Meat the Veals". True, uncontrolable laughter. I miss that show.

Mmm, I dunno. I guess I didn't get into it as much as It's Always Sunny. I also like a few other shows like Friday Night Lights, Lost, and the first 3 seasons of Nip/Tuck along with Dexter. I have never like The Office either so maybe my humor is just a little different than most.

I absolutely love It's Always Sunny, but it's not as clever as Arrested Development. I can't think of any ever show that I've seen that's as clever. Just two different types of humor.

It's great. One of my favorites. But I wouldn't go this far. IMO, it's right there w/South Park, Always Sunny, Seinfeld, and Trailer Park Boys. Even. Not ahead.

wrong and wrong. all great shows, but they pale in comparison to the brilliance of AD.

I think we're looking at differences in comedic preference here. I love the dialogue of Always Sunny. It doesn't have the recurring story lines of AD, but the dialogue in a given episode is unparalleled in terms of sheer comedic value. I also love the way the characters in Always Sunny have developed. AD is excellent, and was killed far, far too soon, but I prefer what Always Sunny does.

To each his own, so long as you know that you're wrong.

I'm gonna just go ahead and say we're both wrong. Trailer Park Boys is the greatest TV series ever, and I say that fairly confident that I'm the only poster on this board who has watched every episode, special, and movie in that series, so no one can disagree with it .

But that isn't my opinion. It's an F-A-C-T "fact".

When I first 'watched' AD I had it on as background noise while playing a PC game. I do not remember what the episode was but I heard them say a few things and I thought, "Did he just say that?" I did not pay much attention the rest of the episode but I can remember laughing randomly and did watch it going forward. Good show, I was really sorry to see it come off the air.

I thought it was going to be a Family Guy type thing where it came back after it came off the air.

AD is our road trip du jour- it can make the trip from Albuquerque to Council Bluffs roll by! The best part is, from here to there and back, I can pump out all of the episodes. A few of my favorites:

Business MODEL!

The edit of Gob talking to the reporter saying that he didnt want them to edit the story so it looked like he admitted to kidnapping the one guy, but they did anyway (genius right there).

Solid as ih-rock!
