Arnaud's Performance

He did enough to win....that is the most important thing. Just wish he could improve on his accuracy. I think the good thing too is that his shoulder must be feeling a little better. He seemed to be running a little harder today. Maybe his shoulder is not bothering him as much now.

I did a little experiment today. I timed every pass play from the snap to when the pocket collapsed/gave up major pressure.

Arnaud had an average of 2.42 seconds per pass play before the pocket collapsed. If you take away the planned quick passes, he had 2.52 seconds per pass before the pocket collapsed.

Our line did great in the run game, but that's not nearly enough time for a quarterback to be able to make his reads and check downs effectively. Give the guy a little credit. He took what he was given and beat at top 20 team on the road with it.

he threw it up for grabs. off his back foot, wounded duck, into coverage. So yeah, that was a stupid pass made up for with a great catch!

Yep, threw the ball where his receiver could catch it. Funny, but I watched landry Jones do that all game last week. Broyles with the great catch, Broyles with the great catch, and on and on and on.

Receivers have to make plays. It's funny how it's a bad throw for Arnaud but great throws for other teams when their receivers make great plays.

It can't be argued. ISU's receivers played much better today and they haven't played well most of the year. End of Story.

you throw a jump ball to sedrick johnson or collin franklin. not the smallest receiver on the field. and dont start comparing our receivers to landry jones.

the offensive line is who won this game for us. without being able to run the ball, we dont run out the clock, and give texas another couple possessions.

LOL Landry Jones is a quarterback for Oklahoma. I've heard enough after that. LOL

Like what most rational people say and think. AA gives us the best opportunity to win.... Those who refute that are idiots.

I think that's way too much of a knee-jerk reaction.

AA is a great kid and a great leader, but he has had enough moments to make any reasonable person ask questions about him, or even believe that he couldn't lead us to a huge victory like this.

Now he's done it. That changes things for him.

I agree. Only point im making is to D Up, that AA's pass to Williams was a great play on Williams part. NOT a great throw like he seems to think.

He had an alright game. Not perfect, but he didnt make horrible decisions that could easily get us in trouble with a team like texas, and that mightve been the most important thing he did today. A pick 6 momentum killer couldve doomed us.

His biggest problem is that he's incredibly inconsistent. When he's on, he's on, when he's off, look out. (and fwiw, before someone jumps on me, i think he's our best option at QB right now)
He is not only our best QB option now, but he is well on his way to becoming one of the best QB's in ISU history.

Arnaud was good, but not great.

When considering who won the game, defense would probably get the nod. ARob was also instrumental on the ground.

Arnaud made good throws but most importantly, didn't turn it over too much.

Hardly a knee jerk reaction. I've stuck to this opinion even when we've lost.

Austen made 2 passes that he threw up for grabs that Darks, and Williams made great plays coming back and getting the ball. The third time he did this, it was picked off. Arnaud played much better than his past couple games, and he is the best QB option due in part to his running. However, his performance today was not much better than Gilberts, our receivers did a good job in helping him out.

Anyone who wants to rant on our receivers, is an idiot. The only time they catch the ball is by great catches jumping, diving, and turning back for the ball. AA has no accuracy. Austen is a great athlete that is one of the best running QBs in the nation, but one of the worst passers. Sometimes AA looks phenomenal, other times he doesn't look like he should not be on the field. I am hoping that he plays like he did against Texas Tech, because if he does that we have a shot to win every game. If he plays like he did against Iowa, OU, and Utah, the only wins we could have is Kansas and possibly Colorado. Actually if he plays like he did against Minnesota in our bowl game, we will win every game. He looked like one of the best QBs in that game.

This. Receivers showed up today. 75yd punt by the freshman. D played tough against an avg Texas offense. Only disappointment was how many 3 and outs the offense had. Similar in a lot of ways to the Nebraska game last year. How many interceptions could they have had today, if not for drops?

Yeah, your right. AA throws perfect balls to them. I forgot. Oh wait, no he doesn't.
