Why would we want to slow down our speed?
Generally Arizona has more speed but Iowa State generally is more sound positionwise and a bit stronger. A slow field tends to equalize the speed taking away one of Arizona's advantages.

Listen to the CW pod. Arizona's defense depends on playing fast - hair on fire fast. If you can slow them down a step it may be all that is needed for someone to hit a gap and be gone before the crashing safety can get there.

The best Mexican food I've ever had was in Tucson in a restaurant in the parking lot behind a car dealership
It's been 25 years but that sounds a lot like the place we ate when we flew in. We walked in and we were clearly the only people in there speaking English. I said to Mrs. Velo, "This is going to be great."

And it was.

What's CMC's actual record coming off of byes?

A quick general search shows quite a few wins following one but I'd guess it's close to .500.

At least two losses were against good to very good OU teams.

Yeah, Tucson is awesome. The only thing that sucks about it is how there’s no expressway into the Catalina foothills/Sabino Canyon area so you just sit in stoplights constantly.
I have family that lives there, so I've visited it many times and the surrounding parts are really nice, but much of it is like one really big Ankeny. One stop light after another to get anywhere.

“Generally” isn’t 2025.

The first time I went to Tucson we flew in before the first Insite Bowl and were going to drive from there to Phoenix. We got in late at night and I had the same initial reaction. But then when I got up in the morning and saw the desert and mountains I had a totally different perspective.
When I flew into Tucson, I looked out the window as we were descending and I thought we we're landing on the moon. Nothing green down there.

Thinking about it logically though, how much does grass really slow down the front seven? It's usually more important with WRs and the secondary.

Was watching Two Guys tonight... chat mentioned that Jeremiah Cooper may have torn his ACL?!? Any update on that rumor would be appreciated.
