Yes and when they do and employer is aware they develop a mutually agreed to exit strategy. I don’t know how a guy does a job with one foot out the door.
No, a lot of places if they figure out people are interviewing elsewhere they let the employee go right on the spot. Are you suggesting Jamie should tell Matt he no longer is wanted at Iowa State?

Jamie said it best...if people aren't interested in our coaches we have a MUCH bigger issue.

Lastly, part of Campbell's contract is the exit strategy. You fire me you owe me. I ditch you I owe you.

...this mention of CMC's 'camp'.

What does that look like if he has no manager?

Not exactly sure.

The good employees I know always have their site on other jobs. Happy with their current but want to move up. When you started your first job did you say, I’m good I want to do this forever.

My first job , in the last interview I was asked what I would want to be doing in 10 years down the road. I told the President, I want your job. They laughed and said, not quite yet but we like the ambition.

I thought the same thing.....but my guess is he has a staffer super close helping him or maybe even a trusted family member/friend that's fielding calls. I thought I've heard he has a financial planner friend or something that helps with the details of contracts.

Randy....time to do a freedom of information request for football complex phone records!!!! Lol

Well if he doesn’t get the job he won’t have one foot out the door. The idea that he should have absolute loyalty to Iowa state is a bit stupid.

The 247 thing and CW’s Patreon update last night are all confirming what we know so no one is missing out by not seeing them. Without giving up the paywall stuff, Campbell is on the list of guys ND is considering and Campbell wants the job. But I imagine a whole lot of guys on the list want the job too. The big question is whether ND will offer the job to Campbell. No one has said he is ND’s first option (although it is funny how both of the paid updates I mentioned have a different person as the #1 choice).

Sorry, but what a dumb statement. The highest paid DC right now is $2.5MM (Venables). Basically the floor for a P5 HC new hire is $3MM now; that’s what McGuire got from Tech. Obviously we pay Campbell more than that and if we extend him this offseason he’ll probably be around $4.5MM.

i think the B1G Kool Aid got to your head because MSU can pay Tucker $10MM to get his s**t kicked in by Ryan Day, but we can still pay head coaches more than coordinators here in the little old Big 12.

Sure we CAN pay him more, but we WON'T. JP is frugal and then add in his comments about paying excessive salaries, he isn't going to pay top dollar for a coach. Yes ISU may be a better football coaching job than Duke but if Duke is willing to pay Freeman, he will get his head coach training there. If he isn't the ND coach of course.

No, even frugal JP would pay a head coach more than “anywhere” would pay Freeman to be DC. When Brent Venables makes $2.5MM and no-experience McGuire gets $3MM from Tech to be HC, this is obviously true.

You think people let their employer know they are looking for other jobs? I wouldn’t even consider that. Only time I would tell them is when I have an offer from another company in hand.

I wonder if JP and Matt are on the same page.

Not for a first-time head coach. JP goes cheap every single time.
Since we're talking about a coordinator job at a top-tier SEC school, there's a very good chance Pollard wouldn't match them.

He hired chizik who was assistant coach of the year or something like that. A lot of folks didn’t think we could get him as he was the highest regarded coordinator out there.

Please read my f-ing post. Yeah we will pay him more than a DC (although we don't know how much LSU or OSU will offer), but WE WON'T pay him more than other schools want to pay him to be their head coach,

Why is reading so hard for some people.

Not sure how to repeat this without sounding like a broken record. The floor for a first time coach is $3MM. The highest paid coordinator of all time with decades of experience makes $2.5MM. We would not be outbid on a head coach by a school hiring a coordinator. That happens to G5 schools, not us. Everybody is acting so weird about this.

Reading the dudes posting history, he has a serious hard on for pollard.

It’s harder to criticize the ad if the football coach stays. So you have to create other narratives, no matter how ******* stupid they are

You injected yourself into an argument about whether we would pay more for Freeman as HC than other schools as DC. Which is all I was talking about until you showed up. Why is reading so hard for some people indeed.
