Hmmmmmm........

Where have I heard this before....

Oh yea. I remember now.

And then Herby had to backtrack and simultaneously wipe the egg off his face. Of course he then claimed he was so happy Campbell was staying at ISU.

The thing is: it's going to take a few more years of sustained success before we break out of the mold of "not one of the big boy programs."

That mold was cast during the down years and a lot of CFB writers still view us circa late '80's early '90's with Campbell working a near miracle with a bunch of "Rudies". Nothing we can do about it although it's extremely annoying.

K-State went through this with Snyder too, and they finally busted out of their "loser" reputation cast by their past and sustained longer by idiot sports writers.

We fans know where our program is right now (which is a very good place), and some writers who make an effort know too. That's all that matters.

So after 11+ pages of reading, we can conclude:
1) no reliable source has any info regarding CMC leaving
2) I just wasted 15 minutes of my life reading no concrete data and only speculation
3) wish I hadn’t opened the thread

If one spitballs enough, they 'may' eventually be right. And then they'll hang their hat on that one success despite the millions of failure prior. It happens everywhere. Sadly, the masses continue to listen to those as prognosticators.

Many folks familiar with LSU job say the AD won't take a past Ed O assistant due to litigation matters. That would eliminate Baylor's coach.

Has CMC said recently he's not leaving Ames, or has he been coy? If the latter, he's gone.

I'll take insufferable twats for $500.

So if Campbell doesn't have an agent (last I knew he didn't), I find it highly unlikely he's personally talking to other schools during the season. Does JP have to give permission to other schools to talk to him?
Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

This is the MOST important thing that anybody speculating about Campbell is that he does NOT have an agent. So, all of the rumors are self started by the rumur mongers.

If he ever leaves, we will find out by Campbell and Pollard, not on twitter from some sports rumor hack.

Well...I agree on Campbell's side. But they could also be fed (correctly or incorrectly and on purpose) from the side doing the coaching search. There is benefit to a school negotiating with a new coach or searching for one to have the other side concerned the school has another option.
