Abdelmassih: There will be tears

Well apparently he was given $250k for the bag and the players were only offered $100k. Hard to compete when you bagman has such a high delivery fee...

In Matt's defense, he did have a short stint as a sports agent before returning to St. John's for the 2nd time.

Fred had another go round with him at Nebraska

Left for health reasons mid season and then disappeared from staff is what I’m seeing reported.

Also saw St John’s has $10m mbb nil??? Surely not…but in NYC I could see it. FB and other sports don’t exist there.

I remember watching him commit NCAA violations at West Hy-Vee with Royce White during the 2010-2011 season.

Wasn't Matt the "Royce White Whisperer" who got him to fly to away games?

Yeah, something bad happened. He's trying to put as much distance between him and the situation that he can.
As always. These coaches know everything little thing that goes on in their program until the **** hits the fan and then they all turn into Sargent Schultz and "know nothing." Rick never knew anything about the hookers and blow thing going on at Louisville, nothing.

Rick Petino is one of the dirtiest/slimiest piece of **** coaches of all time. He knows nothing my ass. In this day and age everyone knows what he’s doing.
If Matt was embezzling money that was supposed to go to players, Pitino honestly probably didn't know.

I'd think if he did he would have fired him on the spot, because it makes Pitino's job harder.

Didnt a lot of people think TJ was a bagman also?

TJ played in the gray area for sure. Not quite as much as Matt though, Matt took it further.

TJ definitely recruited in the grey area, but Matt was doing things that were well beyond that. And honestly in that point in time if you weren't in the grey area when recruiting in college basketball you weren't going to be super effective at your job.

No need to share specific incidents....but what does that exactly mean?

"Gray area".....like is that picking up the hotel for a family at an AAU tourney? or doing that with a welcome basket with a few benjamins in the basket next to the snacks?

And what would the well beyond me? Big money?

Again, just really curious about what that looked like pre-rev share/NIL....and not broadly, but ISU specific.

And of course, when i heard stuff about Matt always logistically wondered where the money came from.....a donor via cash to him to move? Fred via cash?

This is interesting: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rigging-college-basketball-games-fbi-investigation/

Here's an excerpt: "Games involving the following teams were allegedly rigged or impacted, investigators say: Alabama State, Western Michigan University, Butler, St. John's, Tulane, East Carolina, McNeese State, Nicholls State, St. Louis University, Duquesne, La Salle, Fordham, SUNY Buffalo, Kent State, Ohio University, Georgetown and DePaul."
