After he left before Fred's last season, I was always worried some type of NCAA recruiting violation punishment would come back to the program. But with the current state of college athletics and the NCAA along with 10 years passing, I no longer worry about it too much.
In Matt's defense, he did have a short stint as a sports agent before returning to St. John's for the 2nd time.

Maybe when he first got here because he brought in some good recruits but I feel like that didn't stick with him very long.
TJ played in the gray area for sure. Not quite as much as Matt though, Matt took it further.
As always. These coaches know everything little thing that goes on in their program until the **** hits the fan and then they all turn into Sargent Schultz and "know nothing." Rick never knew anything about the hookers and blow thing going on at Louisville, nothing.
Rick Petino is one of the dirtiest/slimiest piece of **** coaches of all time. He knows nothing my ass. In this day and age everyone knows what he’s doing.
If Matt was embezzling money that was supposed to go to players, Pitino honestly probably didn't know.
I'd think if he did he would have fired him on the spot, because it makes Pitino's job harder.
TJ definitely recruited in the grey area, but Matt was doing things that were well beyond that. And honestly in that point in time if you weren't in the grey area when recruiting in college basketball you weren't going to be super effective at your job.
