Well, after yesterday we have fallen to #16 in NET, OSU up to #29. Hope we can hang onto a #4 seed.
I’m telling myself anything better than a 6 is probably out of the question. If it happens great but just not seeing it. And I would be thrilled with a 6 honestly.

Iowa State has 8 Q1 losses, 5 of which are Q1A. 0 in Q2, 0 in Q3, 0 in Q4.
Iowa has a Loss in every Q. 6 in Q1, 1 in Q2, 1 in Q3 and 1 in Q4. They are an equal opportunity loser.

Of the remaining games, Iowa has twice as many out of Q1 as they have Q1 games (2 in Q1, 3 in Q2, 1 in Q3).
5 of 6 Iowa State remaining games are Q1

P6 ROLE GUYS
---
Kalscheur (Minnesota)
Kunc (Washington State)

MID-MAJOR GUYS
---
Grill (UNLV, kind of a weird one with leaving and coming back)
Holmes (St. Bonaventure)
Osunniyi (St. Bonaventure)
Ward (VCU)
Williams (Temple, obviously not playing this season)

LOW-MAJOR GUYS
---
Jones (Denver)
T. King (Eastern Kentucky)

<4* FRESHMEN
---
E. King
Lipsey
Watson

This team only has two high-major transfers on it. Everybody else is from a mid-major (or worse). The three freshmen aren't exactly ones you projected as immediate contributors in the Big 12.

This team is crazily outgunned. It's doing well to do as well as it has.

Definitely out-gunned in conference play. Thankful that reinforcements are en-route:

Don't look now, but ISU's NET SOS is up to 4th. Just wicked, this Big 12 is.
What I don't get about the NET right now is the Big 12 is clearly the most difficult conference yet you have teams above them like St. Mary's, UCLA, SEC teams etc. Just seems odd. Houston at #1 with only 5 quad one wins and a ton of wins, 10 against really bad opponents just doesn't seem right.

Margin of victory?

I'd rather play Kansas than OSU in round one at this point
I'd like to not play OSU for awhile. The games against them the last couple years have been miserable other than Brockington shooting out of his mind in Stillwater last year. It's not even that we lose against them, it's just the games are hard to watch

I'd watch OSU vs ISU on a loop for a week rather than watch us play WV ever again. Compared to WV, the Cowboys are a ballet troupe.

They're #14 on Torvik and #18 on KenPom.

I don't think #19 is unreasonable.

There's no shame in losing to WVU on the road and only a little shame losing to OSU at home.

The Big 12 is getting its just respect for once.

And still #16 NET .... the only thing that "truly matters" ... although it's good to be ranked consistently -- more attention, better perception, all those things.

ISU hasn't "looked like" a top 25 team too often for the past couple of weeks. But I try to remember, it's possible to cherry-pick a 5-game stretch by just about any ranked team throughout a season and find some clunkers.
