Audi Crooks to Transfer

Well Jada Williams has transferred from two programs now that she has labeled “toxic”. Maybe it’s Jada Williams causing programs to become toxic. No question she seeks money and social media exposure. As long as we are fueling rumors.
I never heard Jada call ISU toxic, heard her I'm back next yr statement then her I'm entering the portal statement. I guess she's big on social media but the only social media I do is CF so I don't know.

Some are resentful of Audi for going to a better situation for her. And she needed to leave after the way the season ended. She would have been blamed for all the others leaving. Whether that is justified or not, I do not know. Not sure how to assess Jada Williams situation. I do know she stated she needed to leave Arizona due to its “toxic” environment. Jada was definitely a hired gun. Has a massive social media following. Heard she showed up in Ames in a very expensive car. I would say Jada has now left two toxic programs. IMO Jada is an overhyped self promoter.
Jada leaving places because of "toxic environment" and then goes to play for the Sea Hag.

I'll be on the edge of my seat watching how this works out...

Rumor was Audi was told she could wait on making her decision but all the other players had to say going/staying in their end of season interviews.
The person who told me the team was imploding was 10-10 on the portal announcements and 2-2 on those staying. His daughter heard it from a team member. The story was that all ten announced their intention to leave in that year end meeting, but CBF said he refused to accept Audi’s and said he’d speak with her agent.

In this version, everyone knew Audi intended to leave, so she wouldn’t be the impetus for their departures. It also strengthens the understanding that CBF was all-in on Audi, which would piss off others.

I don’t care as this is water under the bridge. I just hate that a young woman is being villainized to protect the reputation of a 68 year-old man, in a pattern which has repeated over the past ten plus years. Bill needs to own this…

People are just upset she left. Good luck to Audi, heck good luck to all. Audi, since she went Big 12, I will not be cheering for.

The fact that she committed to a team they will play in Hilton is….well, something. That won’t be pretty regardless of the outcome, and she chose it. Seems pretty myopic and/or naive on her part, but oh well. Hope the 1.4m contract is worth it, Audi.
I'm not gonna lie, I'd piss on a lot of graves for $1.4M lol

“I’m looking for culture, number one, first and foremost. Somewhere with good people. You can be a good basketball player, but good quality people, good character, and great personalities are number one,” she said during a recent appearance on NBC Sports.

Iowa State Way???

Casual fans are upset at Audi for leaving, but I don't blame any of them for looking elsewhere. I don't see any outrage for the others that transferred.
I know this wasn't your point and I'm just venting here. But I'm so tired of the straw man arguments that keep getting brought up on the IE/CF podcasts saying fans "just don't understand."

I really dialed back on the Two Guys podcasts after (just being honest) all the crying about the FB team last fall. I've tuned into a couple recently and the same thing is almost always said by CW "Fans today just don't understand how this system works. They're shocked she's going to OSU when they're not a good program. I just wish we could educate fans about how this all works."

I'm sure there are some people in that boat, but I can tell you: most fans understand how this system works and its not just the fanatics. I have a parent who is 78 years old and couldn't tell you what NIL stands for, but he absolutely understands players can transfer and do for big paydays now.

My point here is that saying this glosses over WHY they are upset. They're mad about her leaving a program she claimed to want to "water the grass." We all get it: she left for a bag. You can understand that and still be upset by it.

Tell us what you think about Jimmy Rogers statements to the Washington State fanbase upon taking the job and leaving one year later.

Honestly, both Audi and CJR got better opportunities in line with their goals. And took them. Just like Campbell and the football team. Can’t blame them. It’s the new reality.

Yep, the new reality and NIL era means do not get attached, players and coaches will move. Players may end up moving year to year. Very sad really.

The question remains, would the same people have left had Audi announced first
Not imposing a view on you here, just a related comment motivated by your comment:

Assuming there's a "toxicity" element to the mass departures, which seems likely, I think it's overly simplistic to pin it on just one player or just the coach. Obviously the player is a problem but the coach is also complicit in creating an environment that fostered/encouraged the problem.

In this reality, players who have other options would leave regardless of when/if the problem-player left.

I would guess the main "toxicity" element here is most of the rest of the team didn't like the Audi-centered style of play, and were skeptical on a different style of play suddenly being used since that's been our style under BF for a while now even without Audi (offense very heavily centered on one player).

Why is CW down in the B12 now or is it just Hassel with his usual schtick?
I think he can just be prone to getting really negative at times. We all know the Big 12 is disadvantage financially vis a vis the Big 10, but hes so focused on that that it clouds his analysis of the whole thing.

On multiple occasions he’s used Brendan Soresby leaving Cincy and Kyle Whittingham going to Michigan as examples of how disadvantaged the Big 12 is, but fails to point out that A) Soresby transferred in the Big 12, and B) Whittingham was basically fired by Utah. He was not poached.

I don’t think it’s a schtick, or even a troll job. I just think the headwinds against the league have worn on him so much that he can’t view it as objectively any more.

If we're being honest here.. Oklahoma State has probably earned the right to claim possibly the best ISU WBB athlete of all time, after all the heartbreaks we've given them over the last 15 years

Considering no one outside the program or without direct access to info knows why the transfers happened…it’s hard to point fingers. Coach Fen is def a big part of the puzzle, but the people I know in the program pointed to clashes within the team structure contributed as well.

I definitely won't be actively cheering for her, she's a rival/opponent now, but nor do I wish failure and misfortune upon her or anything similarly childish. It's a business now and she made a business decision.

The virtues of loyalty are easy to preach when it's someone else's money at stake! "Money can't buy happiness" maybe, but it can buy a lot of things that make you happy.

CW acts like the rest of us know nothing, but when push comes to shove about REAL in depth information, he actually knows nothing himself.

Count the amount of times he says “I don’t know” in a Two Guys or Williams and Blum pod.

My issue is the players and coaches making false or exaggerated statements about them leaving. Just go and get your bag. Leave. Stop saying it “was a hard decision” when you now say you knew all along. There is a huge disconnect between players, students and fans because of NIL and the portal. Players could help a little by stopping the false pretenses. Be honest or be quiet. Same with coaches. Just my opinion.
