I could be wrong, but I get the sense that at that point Big 12 spread offenses couldn't really be stopped. It was a frenetic game of winning the turnover battle and outscoring your opponent. Since then offenses have figured out you need to approach our 3-3-5 stack with a more patient, balanced attack.
This is going to sound cruel, but “In Traction Jackson” would be more appropriate based on him living on the injured list for the past 4 years.
I attended quite a few games at Clyde Williams. Especially remember the 23-23 tie with Nebraska when Tom Goedjon (sp) missed the extra point.Did you know that this is the second time the Yotes have opened their football season in Ames? Here is what happened the first time, 72 years ago:
