South Dakota Pregame Thread

Did you know that this is the second time the Yotes have opened their football season in Ames? Here is what happened the first time, 72 years ago:

The game was played at Clyde Williams field. How many here ever attended a game there?

Little update on the roads around the stadium, the construction on SE 16th is finished for the year, so its still two lanes from University up to the bridge past Vet Med, and then after crossing the bridge its 4 lanes all the way out to Duff. There is no sidewalk now on the North side all the way down to University Street. So the last part you will be walking on the dirt.

They opened up one lane of two way traffic on Stange Rd, north of 13th street, its down to one lane both ways, but at least you can now go both directions. The west lane is paved but they are still working on the sidewalk and shoulder on the west side.
They have fixed university at 16th street, so that S curve is now pretty nice.
On this note heads up to anyone planning on coming into town on Highway 69, there is construction on the southside of Huxley just north of the 4-way stop. It is down to one lane with a stop light. I have sat there for quite a few minutes with normal afterwork/before work traffic, I could see it being a mess tomorrow.

First sentence of the press release = fine print.

"Beginning with the 2025–26 season, the Big 12 Conference will publicly provide player availability reports for all Conference games in football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball."

Sorry! My source on the "fine print" part was from Miller and Condon.. conveniently after Miller was whining about it.

SIAP but what is uniform combo for Saturday?
Not sure, but I wouldn't mind all cardinal. They said the helmets won't make it back in time, so I'm expecting the cardinal I-State with white accents that they previewed before the year. I'm guessing we go with the standard C/C/W though.

Nothing official yet, but hints/rumors suggest black. Since they were practicing in their white helmets this week and the cardinal lids had to be shipped back from Ireland, I'm going to guess B/B/W.
This would be the dumbest possible choice unless we're trolling everyone. First home game is the time to wear the school colors. Black should be reserved for one big night game a year.

Agreed. But I don't think Campbell or the players care. They're gonna wear whatever they want. I was disappointed we wore black for the bowl game. But, hey- a successful program gets a long leash.

I just looked at this site's football schedule and results and we will beat both North Dakota and Iowa. I guess we play South Dakota on Saturday and North Dakota on the 31'st.
