As my Grandma would say, "My goodness gracious!"
As a good friend/Spencer high school teacher says, via his students, "Clones are cool, Iowa U, not......"
This younger gen?
The daze of Hawk whatever favoritism, is on an increasingly short leash.
Who YOUNG (add African American), would prefer IU over ISU?
What is this based on, other than bias?

With how much the modern LB plays in coverage, having speed at the position is mandatory.

Having a heavy mike is needed for our dime stack for stopping the run, but the edge LB's need speed.
We haven’t had a heavy Mike since O’Brien. And won’t this year. He was the only one we’ve had that big.

And I’d expect Hawthorne to be up to 240 after a year.

I’ll bite.

What triggered this?

We seem to be splitting instate prospects right now, depending on whose area they’re in. The ‘26 class has more in UI’s umbrella.

But how many students in 4A schools compared to 3A schools?
Not sure, there's a lot to consider. 4A gets more kids to state per event than the smaller schools so that's gotta be figured too. All in all class 3A kicked 4A's butt. Just throwing some differences between the classes out there when looking at the results.

I hope they don't put 240 on Will, it'll kill his speed... This isnt 90's Nebraska, most NFL LB's play closer to 230 versus 250

Heavy MLB in CFB are 240+ (in today's game). Brezina, Lovitt, Bacon are all that..

What does that have anything to do with beating Nebraska out for a recruit? It seems like you bring up Iowa in nearly every post.
Well, to be fair, Nebraska is even more irrelevant than Iowa. So there is that.

If I'm an Iowa, 18 year old or so athlete, CMC would be someone that I would resonate with waaaay more than KF.
Former, young n cool. Latter...old dude.
Toss in "color," whether fb or bb,
IU be pretty white. We, not.
IU, more n more, will become your dad's n grandpa's team. Book it, whether fb or bb.

I would agree, if I could. I'm not 18 and don't pretend to know what it's like to be recruited by either staff.

Knowing kids recruited by both, Matt is more personable and relatable to the kids. Kirk didnt deal with the kid I knew because he was a PWO. Didn’t really interact with him while he was on the roster either.

Know a kid getting recruited by Heacock and he’s basically blowing the whole thing off. Physical tools but mentally could be a challenge. Family doesn’t put much emphasis on education

This is as dumb as when I hear Iowa fans thinking ISU football could go back to 1990s level.

2 of Iowa's 3 coordinators are black. Pretty much all of their assistants outside of Phil Parker are young.

Both football programs are good despite the hatred and bias of the opposing fan base.

No level minded person would argue that Iowa's basketball program is poor to average and has been for the better part of 3 decades.

I agree with this. However, when you hear kids commit, a lot of times they comment on how the position coach was in contact with them all the time and how they grew close to that coach. The head coach does help recruit but does not as close to the recruit as the position coach and some other assistant coaches. So I don't think they KF vs CMC comparison comes in as much as say basketball when you are talking TJ vs Fran in a recruiting battle.
