I agree. It reminds me of the campus town renovations. Sure, it’s great that all this stuff came in, but you completely destroyed what made my memories of the place from when I was in school.

Now with this, maybe the college kids and young adults will create memories with this new Cytown, but it won’t be the same as I remember growing up going to games and tailgating in those lots. I worry that having tailgating pushed further and further out and only available when the weather is dry is going to ruin the entire atmosphere in the name of advancement.
Oh, u mean the parking lot in a flood zone that was crumbling? Also, there are more tailgate spots closer to the stadium than before.

I maybe in the minority but I just watched the video and not only did it not get me excited. It actually made me disappointed. I think this place is better for
Opposing fan and not for us. Clone fans love tailgating at their cars. This place is a downgrade for that. The amphitheater is cool. However I don’t know why we need a bunch of office space and a hospital type place in between Hilton and Jack Trice

This isn't about football game day, or really even basketball game day. It's about generating revenue the 300+ days per year where there isn't an athletic event at JTS or Hilton.

Empty parking lots = $0.

This thread makes it obvious who never comes to Ames for anything other than FB/BB.

Just put those loser posters on ignore. I’ve had that poster on ignore for years. They have the worst takes in every thread. Either they’re enjoying being a troll or they have some type of deficiency when it comes to thinking.

This is seriously going to be awesome. As someone who comes from out of state for a couple games a year I'm pumped to have this as an option and stay at that hotel with my family. Or come down for a Saturday afternoon bball game and stay the night after. This is going to be a great addition and all the space seems really well thought out

I’m not going to say it won’t be annoying when hawkeye fans take over the bars because they don’t have actual tailgate spots. It will be. But that’s one day every other year and by the looks of things we won’t be playing them every year going forward if the Big 10 and SEC have their way.

We can only hope, imo. Their general level of greasyness, douchebaggery, and other unspeakable tendencies should not be allowed in Ames.
