Milan Rumors - Hand Injury

I was looking at Milan's game logs and was shocked to see he only played 17 minutes vs Tech and 22 minutes vs Utah. He also only played 17 min vs Marquette. And he wasn't in foul trouble those games (he's rarely in foul trouble).

While I would love to have Milan healthy and playing tonight, it may not be as big of a loss as we may think

I'd be amazed if Nojus comes off the bench before Watson if he's healthy. Nojus has a bright future but I think he's found himself in a similar spot to Omaha last year where TJ just doesn't have a ton of trust in him. Watson is a known quality and TJ knows what he will get out of him.
I could see this, just because of the role Watson has and would play in the game and his experience.

But on the flipside prior to and after coming back from the foot injury, Watson was not part of the rotation when TJ was playing around with the 9 man rotation. The 9th guy was Nojus.

But I still have this sneaking suspicion that TJ will play pretty much a 7 man rotation and use Watson for a few minutes.

I agree with the point that Milan 20ish minutes can be absorbed pretty easily. he is clearly the teams best 3pt threat and can't be ignored by opposing defenses to maintain spacing.
While I fully believe the staff will have a good plan to pivot tom we shouldn't try to underrate Milan not being available (if the rumor is true) can change the game plans for both ISU and the opponents either.

well, Jones in the starting line up.
Nate Heise is going to need to produce a bit more, but he was playing more minutes anyway. Maybe it will be easier for him to play when not looking over shoulder?

may need a sprinkle of Nojus and Watson potentially.

CuJo has more made 3's - slightly worse % than Milan, but I wouldn't say Milan is CLEARLY the best threat there.

agree, but you could go “old” school Otz and put teams in hell with Heise and Watson—KU’s offense isn’t top-tier—or you could see what Nojus gives you, who at the very least seems to be a much better creator than Mom (I think trepidation with Nojus would be turnovers)

If I recall correctly, Milan is averaging less than 20 minutes a game.... so maybe not the end of the world. Hope this will not be an issue for the team having Milan out for a while.

During the Tech game I was thinking that we were fortunate that we don't have any injuries. So, if I jinxed us, sorry. I agree with some prior posts that this team is very deep and it may not be that much of a drop off as one might think. I would be more bummed if it was Jones that was injured. I don't think we have anyone that could replace his scoring.
