No one cares about the CyHawk outside of Iowa. Does anyone really care about Floyd of Rosedale? The Apple Cup? The Wagon Wheel? There are countless rivalry trophies out there- what's the harm in one more? It's just a nice additional element to elevate the game's relevance. While we're at it- let's get a renewed series with Missouri. The telephone is gathering dust in Columbia.

I really don't understand the aversion.

The best I can tell is that the people in those positions are leery about leaning into the "hick" stereotypes, which is a major mistake IMO given the respective fanbases.

That's probably pretty close to spot on. Just like the AI trophy generator: it puts the farmer in overalls. I am what (I feel) I would call the typical Iowa/Kansas farmer. 1200 acres of commodities and cattle. My work attire: Leather work boots, Blue Jeans, a "2 year old sons high school sports team" tshirt, with a frayed favorite sports team ball cap. When it gets cold I put on a thick hooded sweatshirt that was given to me by the dealership I bought a tractor from or the dealership I bought said commodity seed from. Looking around there are millions of people just like me from Indiana to Colorado. Forgive me but the perceived "hick" stereotype is mind boggling. If they would just simply embrace it they might just maybe see they have a powerful army behind them!

Since nobody seems interested in slapping a trademark on Farmageddon (that I'm aware of), maybe Grain Belt should step in and be the official beverage and introduce an unofficial belt for the game. Kind of like WRNL's Riot Bowl gas can, but with actual marketing potential.

Nobody but people in the Twin Cities cared about St. Johns/St. Thomas either. But that doesn't mean it isn't a rivalry...

Agreed. I don't have an issue if they want to create a trophy, but I've never looked at K-State as being a big rival of ISU any more than any of the other conference schools.

I dunno. I kinda like KState. We're fierce competitors, and, in my little mind, I respect our foes who bring it. Beat 'em? Oh, hell, ya! KSU has a helluva football program, they are a most worthy foe.

Uh, maybe a cat vs. bird isn't the best way to go. Here's Luna, a panther who was rejected by her mother when she was eight days old. She was adopted and raised by her Russian family. The dog, a rottweiler, is her BFF.
