RECRUITING: Cyclones earn commitment from in-state linebacker Will Hawthorne

RECRUITING: Iowa State has earned a commitment from the top in-state linebacker in the 2025 class in @WillHawthorne10

Why didn’t Iowa offer? Knew they’d lose him?

Twedt has been dating Will's sister Ava for a couple of years now.
Well that’s interesting. Thinking about it even more they went 0-2 on the original HOIAC members at the linebacker position in Twedt and Logan Klemp. They probably have PTSD.

Yeah, they were really chirping about Twedt. We were fine cutting him loose.

Question for the group. I know Will Hawthorne would be a great linebacker, like really good.

Is he better suited at the next level as a tight end? Think about it, he will probably fill out to 6"3, 240 ish.. I think about great tight ends who run a tad smaller like EJ Bibbs, Dallas Clark, Ben Sinnott from KSU. This kid could be in that mold. Seems like a dynamic offensive guy who breaks tons of tackles, just my two pennies.

We desperately need him at LB though. We're absolutely loaded at TE.

“Better suited”?

A. How many catches has he made?

B. With his speed, kid can make a lot of money on n the NFL at LB.

C. If I wanted to pick an offensive position for him, it’d be fullback. Guys who are rarely used, still have long careers with the teams that keep them, and wind up fully vested in the pension program.

He’s going to fit in just fine at linebacker.
