Barnes, Brackins, and the future

It is like people on here do not watch college basketball in general.. and they just watch ISU. Can people not see how physically far behind we are from the rest of the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big 10.

Go find me a BCS school that is in the top 25 that uses less than stellar athletes but runs a good system.

Not in men's basketball the only place this works is women's basketball. It works for ISU.

I completely agree with this....watching us "play" Missouri this year was liking watching a freshman team try to compete with the varsity in terms of athletic ability.

Agree 100%. Not a single one and not any in recent memory.

So you get picky becaue Butler is highly ranked...how about BYU? There ya go, you're welcome.

Have a good night, and a great weekend everyone!

It's tough to get excited for this possibility when you've been a life long Cyclone fan, see the thread about how we're a tortured fan base.

Alot of what ifs lately. We need a few recruiting breaks to go our way. I don't know much about Dendy, but we need to get him. We need the help now whether CB stays or not. We really need to sign Ejim. If so, some of the other recruits coming in w/ him, and potential recruits for '10-'12 seem promising. I guess I can wait another few years to get this thing rolling, but it is very frustrating.

I'm pulling for GMac, but keep thinking of the recruiting whiffs we've had recently (big men recruits for high school class of '07 and '08 come to mind, excepting CB - great pickup). Which led to last years interesting class (this years freshmen)??? We'll see how that turns out I guess. Future recruiting is sounding good, but we still may whiff on the ones we really need.

We really should have more quality Sophs and Juniors (and Freshmen, but less of them?) by now, even with defections. It is ultimately the coaches responsibility to recruit players that can compete in the B12, and not just warm the bench while walk-ons or less talented players play.

Still seems like a lot of 'what ifs' to me.

Is there any chance that basketball gets their own strength and conditioning coach? I think we have looked less mature for years and years and years... Brackins has great arms, but no meat. Buckley seems like A-Rod on this team. I really think this would have a big impact.

Not likely in the least. Better chance of the horseshoe coming.

I'm sorry, but here it is. Barnes is not coming to ISU. He told coach McD weeks ago to go ahead and look elsewhere with that scholly. This is the absolute truth.

read my previous posts about harrison, you can tell i'm hinting at this , never wanted to come out clearly with it though, hoping it could still happen but sounds like barnes thinks he is better than ISU and family.

They will be "too young" and may possibly "run out of gas".
I also predict an academic casualty, an injury, and a bong incident before we get better.

Johnny raincloud herre I guess. My hopes lie on Paul Rhodes going ballistic on a Big12 referee this year. I hope he fights for Iowa State.

I don't get it? Are you saying that BYU is a BCS school?
What's so hard to get? Oddly enough:jimlad:, much like Utah, BYU is a BCS school.

If you'd prefer, I'd say that Purdue doesn't have all that many phenomenal athletes, or point out that before you can be top 25, you have to be top fifty--which doesn't require all phenomenal athletes. It's a process. One step at a time.
