All I can think of is the corporate woods drive exit, but that's already got a casey's travel center, a kum n go, and a kwik trip coming soon, with no real room for a buccees there/

As far as up on 36th street, there's already development plans in place for much of the land right off the interstate that wouldnt work well with a buccees

I think the only place you could really drop one would be up off 54th in Ankeny or off the exit that goes to Huxley

Casey's moved into Indiana a few years ago and still have room to grow in the state. Not a lot of competition for them in Indiana. Speedway is likely their biggest competition and they don't offer much for food choices.

Kwik Star is the way.

Caseys is fine for pizza still but I have an unlimited supply of buy any large, get a free medium 1 topping. Get a taco and a half pep/half sausage medium and can feed the family for under 20 bucks plus leftovers.

Somehow pizza hasn't been inflated as much like all the other food places. Go to a sitdown and I'm lucky to keep a meal under $60 and thats ordering all water for drinks.

I do about 50/50 Caseys and Dominos, I still like both enough at their price point.

Village Pantry used to be the Casey's of Indiana but their ownership had money issues, so they are run down and dirty now.

I think some of you would be amazed at the food at Wawa or Sheetz.
I go to the East coast frequently and those two are great.

Had plenty of trips to wawa from our hotel by the international entertainment district while at both the bowl games in Orlando and edc Orlando. Solid place.

North of the new costco wouldnt be an ideal travel station though. Those places want to be as close to the highway as possible.

They build a lot of Buc-ees off a frontage road, which would not be difficult to build to the North of the new Costco or further North off of Huxley, Buc-ees require a lot of land because the actual gas storage tanks are not on site, but close to store and they pipe the gas down to the store. Buc-ees also do not allow semis to stop as they need all the parking for cars.

Many sit back from the interstate because they need the space.

And Caseys eliminated subs in most places which sucks for me.

Yeah, that was the deal breaker for me. You can get a sub with just meat, cheese, and lettuce, but piling those ******* up with veggies in order to stuff your gut without adding calories was the whole damn point.

JFC Buc-eee's is the last thing Ankeny needs. That town already struggles with infrastructure and I can't even imagine what would happen if you threw a Buc-ees into the mix.

Buffalo Center Casey's is probably one of the worst in the area. Dirty, grimy and yet always crowded.

It's the only gas station/source of fast food in that town. Of course it's always gonna have a crowd.

I'm at the age where lettuce can be a bit touchy if its slightly spoiled. I love salads but sometimes they bite back.

The Casey's in our town is middling. For some reason they cannot figure out how to keep A&W root beer stocked. Literally is out of stock 6/10 times we go in there. They also messed up our pizza order (got someone else's pizza) 2/3 times a couple years ago. (once was a bonus, the other was not - plain cheese).

Started going to the one in a neighboring town. They are stellar. It's the same guy in the kitchen and he knows what's what and they are head and shoulders above the one here (and its socio-economic level is down from here). There is also one about the same distance a different direction that I never go into for anything.

We do like Kwik-Star and there is one near by. I was looking for soup one day and discovered that they occasionally have Mac 'n Cheese in one of those soup pans. WIN! Pretty decent product.

Went to Buc-ees once. Took 3 light changes to get off the interstate on to the local highway then another two at the left arrow just to get to the winding road/driveway. The sandwich was solid (the kolache was lame). I got the same feeling I get when I go to Super WalMart to get a 1/2 gallon of milk; why does it have to be so big, such a pain to park and just for that?!?!

We made the mistake of pulling the Foley, AL location a few years ago on our way to Gulf shores and yeah it took like 45 minutes to even get parked.

I've also noticed in general that a lot of the convenience store chains have a hard time keeping the soda syrups on hand for the fountain machines so yeah most likely a distributor issue.

I think the people who live in small towns tend to rely on them more for meals.

If I'm traveling, at this point, I'm more likely to get meals at a gas station (when I'm actually getting gas) because it saves having to make the extra stop at a restaurant.

I travel to a lot of small towns and there often is no other options for fast-casual food. And in the Midwest, that means eating at Casey's. Their pizza is still decent but the rest of their hot food, along with their donuts, is borderline bad. Casey's donuts used to be awesome and then they stopped making the dough locally and getting them shipped from corporate frozen.

Too many other options (except for small towns) to spend money inside a Casey's these days unless its the pure convenience stuff like soda, candy, chips, etc.

JFC Buc-eee's is the last thing Ankeny needs. That town already struggles with infrastructure and I can't even imagine what would happen if you threw a Buc-ees into the mix.

Build it out by the Huxley turnoff and it would be easy to get in and out of. For some reason Buc-ees does not want to be in the actual town they are serving but close to it. We have stopped at 8/10 and the only ones that were difficult to get into because of traffic was the one in Dentin and the one in Severville Tn, both forced you to go through a lot of traffic to get into it. Build one out to the north of Ankeny at the Huxley interchange would not cause traffic problems for Ankeny at all
