the problem with pollard is that he cleaned house in his first and second year here. and if it aint broken dont fix it. and im not sayin we were good at football and basketball all the time but we won occasionally.

His teams did one thing a lot better, and that was get to the free throw line - something that would make a huge difference. Better guard play as well.

Floyd's team were definitely not up tempo. They ran the shot clock down almost every possesion.
Agreed... But this losing sucks. People forgot about the issues because of winning. And man does that feel better then losing.
We always bring up the classic line of winning cures all... But people that usually say that are people that either hate that team, or cheer for a losing team.
Wayne didn't win - his teams got worse and worse every game out and he was fired because of two reasons 1 - he was a terrible coach and 2 - he was leading us down a very bad road with the NCAA.

I agree. I'd like to see our guys going to the rim a lot more, but just don't think we have the personnel for that right now.
i know floyd coached a grind it out style but when his teams could run the break they did, when McD's teams have a chance to run the break they slow it down and let diante dribble out the shot clock for 25 seconds

I support our basketball program. That doesn't mean I can't think our hiring process was shortsighted at the beginning, and it doesn't mean I can't think that he may not get the job done.
Unfortunately, we just don't have the athletic ability to really run. DG can't dish well enough to feed the streaking players and nobody but Brackins can really create their own shot. Without the dishing or slashing, you really can't do much in the open court.
ur right we dont have the athletic ability but i go to every home game and when we have 2 on 1s we should take the chance. and from the games i see most of the time when have these chances they include petey and brackins probably our two most athletic players
Watching this group of guys 'stand around the three point line' is also a laugher.
Point 2.... Are you sure that was his fate or just your opinion?? Do you have fact of that or not?? Like I said I have no clue about his character but he did have teams over 500. The only thing I ever heard was the scheduling thing.

I want to cheer for GMac, but he hasn't shown me 1 thing in 3 years to cheer for. I will never cheer against ISU but that doesn't mean I support GMac, you can do both. If he wins great..... I don't see it.
Plus... while I'm just 1 person that will continue to buy tickets and go to games, what about those fringe fans who have been coming, what about people who are fed up?? Those people not coming is alot more important then just me coming to games alone.
Plus, it seems that the number of foolish looking people not cheering for ISU is growing bigger and bigger with each losing season.

1. If records are any indication to determine a coach is "terrible", then what adjective do you use to describe Greg McD.
2. Although there is nothing on the record to indicate this is true, even if there were some issues, I feel JP - acting as the AD, should have required these practices stop immediately and give Morgan a chance to meet performance expectations. JP pulled the trigger way too soon and we don't do that at ISU.
You can't fire somebody on allegations that have no merit. And if you do believe this, then you would agree LE should have been fired for paying Jake $20 for meeting certain goals in practice.

Jeremy, I love CF and have from the beginning. Can't thank you enough for bringing this thing to life.
That said, you are using a double standard on these coaches. I am not going to defend WM as I supported the decision to let him go. But I am into objective measures like wins and losses. Over a three year span of time, there is simply no argument that WM did a better job for ISU than GM has done. GM will now get the benefit of the doubt and a year four while WM was shown the door.
I agree. This myth of lesser athletic ability dictating our style of play only goes so far.
Check out NW at Purdue tonight: NW had inferior, slower athletes at every position, but their constant movement, plus crashing the boards (11 offensive rebounds) won them the game tonight.
If we are so terrible, name one coach that could do well here, that wants to come here? Firing Mac will set our program back even more. But Im off tired of reading the same garbage over and over and over and over. Rehashing the same crap, and how people seem to know all the answers on how to revive the basketball program. I still support JP, Gmac, and the Players. Go Cyclones! I'll be there saturday.
