Woke up about 15 minutes late this morning or I might have watched it before work. Articles online already touting the death of a "major" MCU character. Most likely were going to find out that some character has been replaced by a Skrull for a long time like it was in the comics series.
Wasnt fury replaced by a skrull in a previous movie?

Admittedly haven’t watched the spider verse movie or GOTG yet. Do those play into this at all?

Likely no. GOTG3 seemed mostly self-contained, but it is possible I guess for some slight tie-ins. My guess is most MCU tie-ins will be to Captain Marvel, since that movie was the one to deal with the Skrulls the most. As for Across the Spider-Verse tie-ins, I'm guessing there won't be any. All that movie did was loosely tie by multi-verse association the Spider-Verse to both the MCU and Venomverse.

I watched it, and I've made my love of spy stuff well known on here, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. I haven't seen GOTG3 but I didn't see anything that didn't make sense.

I thought it was ok. After Fury was told “The blip changed you” for about the 5th time I kind of lost hope that there was going to be nuanced story telling in this one.

I watched it last night and enjoyed it, but yeah; that did get a little old.

I watched Secret Invasion last night after work but I think I need to try and watch it again because there were a lot of distractions going on around me with the kids so I could quite focus in on it. Honestly I don't have very high hopes because in my opinion all the MCU stuff on D+ has been pretty terrible. I wouldn't bother with it if I didn't like the Fury character so much.

You aren't going to get nuanced story in a D+ show. I'm just a sucker for spies.

First episode of Secret Invasion was fine. The problem with the whole Skrull thing is every time a character does something slightly off you'll say to yourself "That's a Skrull." and be right. At some point, unless they include some human sympathizers to throw off the good guys, the intrigue really isn't there.

Someone big is going to get revealed as a Skrull at some point and my money is on MI6 lady. Sure she seems to be playing a "destroy all the Skrulls, good ones be damned" card but I'm not totally buying it. The comics from which it drew inspiration had a Skrull Queen or something posing as Spider-woman and if they don't have any actually superheroes show up in this to be her, this the most likely candidate.

I thought Secret Invasion episode #1 was fine enough. Nothing great, but nothing bad enough to say this isn't worth seeing where they are going with things. They are definitely going the spy thriller route with this one.

The foreshadowing was about as subtle as a sledgehammer. it was immediately clear that the Ross was a skrull. The shot of Fury coming down from space with the bright lights that made him look an an old school alien too...

Ha, who gives a ****? Honestly the dumbest project to be greenlit in the comic book movie era.

Edit: Forgot about “The Trench”, so it’s only tied for the dumbest project to be greenlit.

57 minute Secret Invasion episode today. Haven't watched yet. Glad the run times are staying up so far. This is the second of the 2 they sent as advanced screeners for critics. After this we'll all be in the same boat.

Finally got around to the first ep. Thought it was great. Really like Talos, enjoy his banter with Fury quite a bit.

Ep 2 was great. So much to unpack there. The interaction of Fury and Rhodes was great. Tense as hell and the dialogue was top notch. This is when Marvel shows it still has good writers hidden in a back pocket. About friggen time.
