What are your feelings on the almighty Pita? I love me some Pita Pit!

I’ve never understood Pita Pit. Like wtf? Was their a federal law saying you can’t eat a sub?

True. I guess I prefer the county line rather than 63 because a point 6 or 7 miles west of 63 doesn't look much different than a point 6 or 7 miles east of 63.

Agreed, but 10 miles on either side and it can be a big difference.

63 just seemed convenient. Being in Cresco I hear comments like “it’s a different world west of 63” or “you’re basically in South Dakota once you get past Davis Corners” on a regular basis. In this little corner of the world, it seems like a universally recognized transition point from the plains to the Driftless

IDK what it is about the Pita Pit. I just know I like it. I think it may be that they mix it all up and every bite is the same.

Charles City is in the NEIC, but culturally and topographically it’s way more aligned with Mason City/Clear Lake than Decorah/Cresco/Waukon.

Osage isn’t NEIA either.

Being from MC/CL area, and having a ton of relatives from the Charles City and New Hampton area, CC/NH always seemed culturally aligned with NE IA to me. Maybe that's just because Grandma always watches KWWL

Being from MC/CL area, and having a ton of relatives from the Charles City and New Hampton area, CC/NH always seemed culturally aligned with NE IA to me. Maybe that's just because Grandma always watches KWWL

I grew up outside Osage and we didn’t even get KWWL. All of our media was Mason City/Rochester and those were the places we shopped and did business. Hardly ever went towards Decorah OR Waterloo.

Being as CC is just down the road, I’ve always seen it as similar.

New Hampton is interesting because it’s not really Driftless area at all, but definitely seems connected with Waterloo or Decorah more than Mason City.

Lol. No. Tell someone from Elkader or Decorah that Mason City and Grundy Center are in NE IA and they’ll look at you like you said you were abducted by aliens.

Highway 63 and Highway 20 are the lines of demarcation. West of 63 and you might as well be in South Dakota.

I am NOT sorry for derailing this into an Iowa geography debate.

That Rochester station gave me identity issues as a kid. Didn’t know what state I was growing up in.
