Agreed, but 10 miles on either side and it can be a big difference.True. I guess I prefer the county line rather than 63 because a point 6 or 7 miles west of 63 doesn't look much different than a point 6 or 7 miles east of 63.
IDK what it is about the Pita Pit. I just know I like it. I think it may be that they mix it all up and every bite is the same.I’ve never understood Pita Pit. Like wtf? Was their a federal law saying you can’t eat a sub?
I liked Pita Pit whenever I went, but I hardly ever did goI’ve never understood Pita Pit. Like wtf? Was their a federal law saying you can’t eat a sub?
Being from MC/CL area, and having a ton of relatives from the Charles City and New Hampton area, CC/NH always seemed culturally aligned with NE IA to me. Maybe that's just because Grandma always watches KWWLCharles City is in the NEIC, but culturally and topographically it’s way more aligned with Mason City/Clear Lake than Decorah/Cresco/Waukon.
Osage isn’t NEIA either.
Half of a #25, please.I'm at Sub City in Mtown right now
I think you could argue it's most like Waterloo/CFIs Charles City more like Mason City or Decorah?
I rest my case.
I grew up outside Osage and we didn’t even get KWWL. All of our media was Mason City/Rochester and those were the places we shopped and did business. Hardly ever went towards Decorah OR Waterloo.Being from MC/CL area, and having a ton of relatives from the Charles City and New Hampton area, CC/NH always seemed culturally aligned with NE IA to me. I'll give you topographically
Lol. No. Tell someone from Elkader or Decorah that Mason City and Grundy Center are in NE IA and they’ll look at you like you said you were abducted by aliens.
Highway 63 and Highway 20 are the lines of demarcation. West of 63 and you might as well be in South Dakota.
I am NOT sorry for derailing this into an Iowa geography debate.
Went there and got that once…….do I need to say more? The only place to go for a philly is PepperJax. They set the bar in my mind.
It’s a crap hole, no one wants to claim it so is NC Iowa people says it’s NE iA.Is Charles City more like Mason City or Decorah?
I rest my case.
That Rochester station gave me identity issues as a kid. Didn’t know what state I was growing up in.I grew up outside Osage and we didn’t even get KWWL. All of our media was Mason City/Rochester and those were the places we shopped and did business. Hardly ever went towards Decorah OR Waterloo.
Being as CC is just down the road, I’ve always seen it as similar.
New Hampton is interesting because it’s not really Driftless area at all, but definitely seems connected with Waterloo or Decorah more than Mason City.
They do have one of those old school subways with the map wallpaper though. It’s a crap hole, no one wants to claim it so is NC Iowa people says it’s NE iA.
It’s like how neither the south or Midwest will claim Oklahoma. It’s a crap hole, no one wants to claim it so is NC Iowa people says it’s NE iA.
Tellurian Brewing kicks ass too. They do have one of those old school subways with the map wallpaper though.
