The replies to that thread are not great.
It strikes me as an underwhelming hire but you never know. Like the poster above, I’m definitely prejudiced against the defensive background guys as HCs.The replies to that thread are not great.

Probably NCAA as well.
I would almost always prefer an offensive background to a defensive one.
Especially with how the rules favor offense more now.
That being said, Saban came from the defensive side of the ball.......
ya, i dont know maybe give an assistant the head for a year?Meanwhile in Starkville, I can't imagine how the AD is dealing with Leach's passing and now having to find his replacement quickly.....
This might sound tasteless but that's the reality that the show must go on.
Honestly, it could be the return of Dan Mullen...Meanwhile in Starkville, I can't imagine how the AD is dealing with Leach's passing and now having to find his replacement quickly.....

With how outrageous salaries have become, and with the sorrow of the event that forced this situation, the prudent thing would be to go with an interim off the current staff.I think they almost HAVE to make the AD hire first or just roll with an interim for next year.
I’d forgotten about him
