First job is the first , sets baseline. Second job was to try something different, get away from a toxic person (took a paycut), third job was to not have to work every weekend (did get a pay raise though), and my current job I took a pay cut to spend more time with my family. So none of my jobs I took because of the pay. Time with my family matters most
Good on you. Money is important and anyone saying otherwise is lying BUT it’s not the end all be all, especially for some people. Not everyone chases the almighty dollar in life and that’s ok. I envy those people as I am not sure I could turn down certain paydays or salaries. Everything is and has become about money, and it sucks it has gotten to the level it has as time has gone on. So good on you for not being consumed by it. I do find myself as I get older not caring as much because my family is indeed way more important honestly.

Lol, all the coaches he could have played for and chooses Sark.
Sark's track record with quarterbacks is pretty good. Carson Palmer, Mac Jones, Tua, Matt Leinart, Mark Sanchez, etc. There are a lot of first round pick notches on his QB bedpost.

Thanks, makes perfect sense to me.

Why on earth does the Manning family need to be focused on money anyway, they're all bazillionaires already. It's not like they're set up to fail long-term.
I'm sure Cooper and his wife are rich, I think she's a lawyer or something, but he's not Eli or Peyton rich rich.

Not exactly sure.

Sometimes it is about being money wise, patient, and deliberate. Between my wife and I and grandparents, our kids didn’t have to do daycare outside of family. One big reason I changed. I went self employed so I could jockey my schedule and make things work. I had/have been offered better pay to go back as a minion but my time matters more to me than making another 20k a year.

So he will be a freshman while Quinn Ewers is a (RS) Sophomore. Does this end up with Arch sitting a year or Ewers transferring again? Because I don't see a way you can have a recruit like Arch Manning riding pine.

Isn't Cooper an oil or investments guy or some ****? Have a feeling they aren't struggling by any means. Or really even in the realm where NIL would be an insane life-changer.

I'd feel like in those shoes, my priority would be being surrounded by the best possible team and coaches to get me into the NFL, which is not a place Texas has excelled lately (that said, Sark has put some QBs up there in the past).

Yeah, energy something or other.

I'd venture to guess Eli and Peyton have gotten him involved in some of their investing. He's probably nowhere near Eli and Peyton's wealth, but I'd also guess he's got plenty of money to go around.

And you are forgetting the elephant in the room. His dad, Archie is worth about $10M. He grew up with generational wealth and all the advantages that offers. Dude was born on second base and has continued to do well for himself from there. Arch has no money worries and can concentrate on what is best for him to get to the League.

I think that's what I said.

Listen, I'm sure the kid is probably getting paid but I can't help but laugh at all the money related comments considering he's a Manning. I'm willing to bet the kid was pretty well off as it is.
This is the son of the oldest Manning boy, Cooper, net wealth is around 13 million, so not really poor but not the wealth of the rest of the family.

Yeah, this thread got kinda weird. AM is headed to Texas based on Sarks track record with NFL qb placement (see Janny's post). If it's about money, it's about NFL money. He's not going to UT for the money. That's silly.

So clearly wealthy enough that money should really be no object and putting himself in the best possible position to make the NFL should be everything.

I absolutely hate to have to be in a position to defend Texas, (or a Manning for that matter) but this doesn't seem to be a bad choice.

He's a Manning, so you know he's got his sights set on a pro career. He's going to a place that will give him major exposure, top flight facilities, and a coach with a track record of getting quarterbacks drafted in the first round. Depending on how things work out, he might get to cut his teeth against Big 12 as well as SEC defenses. There's plenty of opportunity for NIL cash, if that's what he's interested in. Texas always pulls in solid talent.

Yeah, the results haven't been there of late, but it's still a place that has the potential to compete every year.

He could have gone basically anywhere, but I get why Texas is a legit option. (yuck, I feel dirty)
