Tyrese Hunter Appreciation Thread

A little Cyclone trivia: I remember when Brock Purdy was a Freshman, he was not allowed to answer press questions. Am I remembering that correctly? We had to wait until he was a Sophomore before we could hear him speak, answer questions, etc.

Why is it that Hunter is allowed in on the pressers then? Not complaining at all, just wondering if there was a recent change. I know I am probably behind in noticing things like this.

I could be wrong, but I remember hearing it was a individual coach policy thing.

13 points on 6 attempts is exactly what we need from Tyrese. He has the ability to live at the free throw line!

8 assists and 2 TO's on a top 10 defense is not normal for freshman.. Watch out of he ever gets a 3 point jump shot!
I think it is just a matter of time. In high school he was a career .371 shooter from behind the arc with 1.7 makes a game. Give him a little more time to adjust to the college game and college arc and I'm sure that percentage will continue to rise.

1st 13 games: .191 Last 4 games: .308

And 8/13 threes he has made this year have come off of an assist. He's taking smarter shots. There is a big difference now in the college line versus 3 point line in high school. Free throw shooting is a pretty good tell for how strong of a shooter you can be. Going 7/9 on Saturday proves he has it in there. I'm sure he just needs to see a couple go in during the game.

Tyrese is a special player. Just an outstanding defensive player. I hope he maintains that because he's just absolutely outstanding there. I mean is he the best defensive PG in the conference? Who is better?

Poor man’s Kyrie, but still pretty rich. Starting to see a lot more Kyrie in his game as the season progresses.

Awesome freshmen ahead of his time, lucky to have him and everyone on the roster. Yeah there’s been some WTF moments but not as much like the old coaches teams. One thing about this team they play hard and that’s nice to see.
