And if I may cherry pick Tyrese is .333 in his last 6 games with the 2 of 8 in the WVU beatdown (as ISU tried to shoot their way back into it) and the 0-2 in the KState loss being the only games he was under .333 so it isn't like he just got out of his mind hot in one game but is instead actually shooting relatively consistently recently.I was just looking at this today. Can cherrypick all sorts of things depending on when you start to look but I started at the 1/26 game against OKST after we had taken our beatdown from TCU. Figured that's when we sort of refocused even though we then had a 4-game losing streak. But in the last 9 games Tyrese is averaging 13.0 pts / 4.2 rbd / 4.2 ast on 46.8% / 29.4% / 73.1%. Very good stuff other than 3PT%, but that figure is workable for a freshman.
I figure he's sort of on that Davion Mitchell path (well actually he's way ahead of where Mitchell was as a freshman, then Mitchell had a redshirt year). But I could see second year Tyrese getting more efficient at 45% / 30% / 75% then as a junior making his case for the NBA at 50% / 35% / 75%. Will be fun to follow.
Remember, shooting .333 from behind the arc is the same PPP as shooting .500 from 2. Definitely more than enough to keep defenses honest.
